The duo presents a sound design show-off consisting of raspy stretch algorithm artifacts, vocoded pulses and slimy granular flurries. Rhythmically, high impact overdriven kicks and syncopated motifs give the tracks a high energy urgency and momentum. Simmering, crusty chopped up break beats accompany stroboscopic pads, glistening metallic percussion and sweeping electro-acoustic gestures. Maneuvering naturally between almost snapping, bursting, fragmenting passages, effervescent glistening chords sometimes emerge, ready to get whacked by mangled, contorted drum machine outbursts.

Pixote (pee-shoh-tche) Blue is made up of selected works from the last few years of live performances across the American Southwest. This particular release is of the dance tracks I've made, the NEXT EP will be from a specific performance entitled "Cholo as Xixtli (Man Dung)/O Forró do Vaquiero Pixote".  Some of these songs were released in some way before this, but here they die.

The next release on katharsis, out in full on April 9,  is “it might be hard and you might feel lost” by Strahinja Arbutina, Croatian artist, founder of the label Low Income $quad, and NTS resident. Working within a nostalgic space of ambient trance, the record moves between simple melodic passages, direct rhythmic structures, and soft ambiences, with a focus on repetition and small shifts rather than big gestures. The tracks hold a steady tension between clarity and ambiguity, where ideas are introduced but not fully fixed. Marking his first original output in several years, the release features five original tracks alongside three remixes by Julek Ploski, katharsis label-boss jjjacob, and estoc.
