Italian mainstay Nicolo Simonelli debuts on Junior Jack’s ever-growing Adesso Music on November 7 with ‘Sukano’ – a rich and emotive Afro house journey that reflects his evolving sonic palette.

Across a storied 15+ year career, Simonelli has explored all corners of house and techno, weaving in elements of melodic, indie, and tech sounds. His catalog includes releases on some of the scene’s most vital labels, such as Carl Cox’s Intec Digital, Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD, Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds, and Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records. In 2020, he teamed up with close friend and frequent collaborator OniWax to launch the Reenboog imprint – a creative outlet pushing deeper into the realms of Afro house and organic rhythms, as showcased here on his Adesso Music debut. 

‘Sukano’ sees Simonelli further refining that direction. Glowing piano chords and pulsating bass flicker like fading embers amongst rolling organic percussion, while smoky, emotive vocals evoke a sense of late-night introspection and raw vulnerability. If you're out and about in London then you'll likely have been to one of the @tessellatelondon parties at Corsica Studios, where they've been running for the last four years. Regulars will be very happy to learn that Tessellate are now launching a label, featuring artists and friends they have booked and met over the years.

Their first 12" comes courtesy of Firmin, a new alias of one of the Tessellate regulars - we'll leave it to you to work out who on earth that might be! 'Energetic Solution' is a brilliant debut release for the label, with a pair of originals backed by Brassica and Moscoman remixes. We're premiering 'La Selva', a beautiful sunrise-ready deep house cut which unfurls gracefully over the course of its 8 minutes.

INA co-owner Corbi makes his long-awaited debut on the label with three tracks of his playful, inventive house sounds. He has made a notable impact in just a couple of years, with EPs and edgy, in demand edits on Anna Walls The Bricks, Music For Freaks and Morris Audio.Opener ‘Samurai’ continues in that rich vein, with seven sublime minutes of dreamy house. It’s awash with gorgeous chords and vocals, adding to the escapist effects of a truly lush track. The smooth ‘Access Serenity’ slows things down, with loose drum tumbles, summery and Balearic string sounds and exotic, tropical percussion that take you direct to the beach.

Last of all, ‘Warp’ with J33 reworks a cult classic with driving, elastic drums and bass and the original’s deadpan vocal style. Add in curious whistles and the whole perfectly off-balance groove is sure to get big reactions.We also had a little catch-up session with Corbi.

Massive Birth bounces on slapped bass, Mod Jazz organ grind, and tumbling percussion. Wielding guitars that cut a Psyche edge. Mind Fair`s remix tames and tinkers with the hand-drums, and focuses on that b-line. Emphasizing its Post-Punk-Funk groove. Sky Dump is Afro Cosmic Prog Rock (think Alan Parsons or Sky) pushed through Italo machines.

Talorypo pits 80s Pop marimba against a buzzing bionic bass-line. The resulting bubbling, fidgeting Electric Ethno fusion is given a more Industrial bashing by The Warehouse Preservation Society. Step-by-step, hitting a Bobby Orlando / Morroder-on-Mogadon chug.
