Consumed by grave guilt and fear, Lady Macbeth has grown delusional and attempts to wash off the invisible blood stain on her hands.

"I have done the deed....But wherefore could not I pronounce 'Amen'? I had most need of blessing, and 'Amen' Stuck in my throat." - Macbeth

After murdering the King, Macbeth found himself unable to face the demon risen within him.

"All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, thane of Glamis!
All hail, Macbeth, hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!
All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!"

Emerging from the mist, the three witches unlock Macbeth's darkest, deepest desire with their siren prophecy.

The ghost of Banquo, who was just brutally murdered by killers sent by Macbeth, appears at Macbeth's banquet.
