This is a collaboration with Gratton, a wonderfully talented fingerpicking guitarist from the USA. Blackwaterside is a very old traditional song, sung in Ireland, England and Scotland, and I learned to sing this "sean nos" style when I was 16. The version here is a bit more jazzy than my usual rendition, inspired by the up tempo Bert Jansch track (which in turn inspired Jimmy Page's Black Mountainside). Thank you Kurt, your amazing guitarwork totally captivated and inspired me!
