Definitely oriented towards contemporary electronics, the 11-track various offers a selection of experimental breaks infused with futuristic trap, dark downtempo and rousing trance, all tightly linked up by an overall digital emo-pop vibe. Between its frenetic, tormented atmosphere, the release also offers a few moments of contemplation, unveiling a softer fragment of the recurrent-to-be gathering, headed by the Mariani duo (Marie Desseauves & Antoine Odin). 

Limited to 250 copies, the crystal-clear 2x12” and its 10-hand designed gatefold is  another nod to these moments when artists and audience join as one, providing the  natural surroundings with an unforgettable memory of symbiosis and creativity.

For this second release Soleil Rouge focuses its attention on Jonnnah, one of the key artists since the creation of the project. After a versatile first release on Worst, the artist continues his creative process in the same line. The sequence of atmospheres and landscapes on this album was conceived as a journey into the psyche, more specifically as an analysis of the depressive state and the healing process. Jonnnah recreates familiar feelings and memories and writes an abstract story to allow the listener to interpret. 

"Terra Incognita" introduces us through a phase of doubt and leads to a loss of orientation, then the feeling of anxiety is explored before arriving at "Sounds of Silence" where energies are transformed, the following landscapes allow a slow reconstruction to close this metaphorical journey with "Enter Paradise". “Poppy's Star” was co-produced with French artist Tryphème, whose work was a source of inspiration in the creation of Jonnnah's universe. The fusion of their sound results in a sentimental 80’s pop atmosphere, that is characterized by heavenly sounding delay processing as well as the melancholic voice of Trypheme. Throughout the quarantine, the artist and his father (also a musician) set up a daily artistic ritual in order to use this interlude to promote their common artistic creation, from this sharing was born the track “Young Man, Old Boy”. 
This album takes us through interludes of gritty noise, melancholic pop, avant-garde experimental music and powerful bass music. The artist treats each of these sounds with the same ethereal and melancholic layer creating a link between the atmospheres of his narrative.

This album marks the birth of the Jonnnah artistic entity, right down to the creation of a physical appearance conceived in collaboration with designer William Mora. The two artists worked together to create a series of masks that draw on intimate visuals from the history and culture of Jonnnah. The various masks were conceived as ritualistic costumes for the upcoming performances, participating in the creation of an alter ego between mysticism and chivalry.

JUnQ, or the Journal of Unsolved Questions, is modeled on a parallel exercise: to sketch music and to score sculptures. Part exhibition, part book and part album release, JUnQ seeks to propose a collaborative language that binds the algorithmic needs of an artificial pop star to the performance of the artist himself. Boundaries between reality and artifice are blurred in a continuous chain of confrontation and sublimation, wherein a romance between analog evolution and digital experimentation is born.

The immersive project released by PAN represents Erwan Sene’s debut album and the multifaceted nature of his approach. Composed like a chorus of fantastical beasts, the album wanders atmospherically through a fogged wood. Sounds are never used for their default function–– they are sculpted, distorted and amplified, becoming hybrids of themselves. A haunting banshee, the monstrous growl of an Orc, Siren songs wafting through the trees–– these and more are recreated with sinuous violins, muffled harpsichord and digital instruments, culminating in a a vibrant “jungle” of sound.

Set for release on NAP's @sonidoisla label, ‘Total Annihilation Beach’ is the Berlin producer’s latest emission. It’s exactly the kinda thing we’ve come to expect from a key member of the smoked-out ambient/downtempo rhizome connecting the likes of Huerco S, Perila and Pontiac Streator.

A meeting point between ambient and club modes, this is all quintessential shy. Properly absorbing stuff that strikes a balance between warm, textured ambience and hand-played percussion. 

Our premiere, 'Lost Hours', comes on a woozy, tabla-fuelled flex.

With 𝑽𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒄𝒕, exael’s offering to the ENXPL series, the artist furthers their exploration of what they refer to as “the jester’s gaze”, wherein a variable array of emotions of the fool are less than obvious to decode. In this emotively charged interzonal reflection point, exael probes these psychedelic anxieties through eight varying tracks of accomplished electronic music production. Excavating the root role of the jester and it’s cosmic objecthood, exael takes on a synchronous identity; human and computer, jester and virus, superimposed. Far from a glistening ambient escapism, or sentimental shoegaze meditations, or obligatory club tropes, exael has created a sonic terrain unique to their own narrative and positionality as an artist. Side A of 𝑽𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒄𝒕 showcases exael’s comfort in fast tempo constructions, while the B side offers slower tempoed ventures with guest vocal duties by writer Zoe Darsee moving between trip-hop and industrial affectations.

exael is an alias of Naemi, an artist residing in Berlin. Their work under this moniker aims to upend elements of divergent sonic aesthetics and musical styles, reassembling them with the intent to create diffuse, mulitfunctional contexts. Utilizing exael as an avatar, Naemi attempts to access a collective subconscious via their own, externally processing the sounds and images that permeate contemporary life. Thus, highlighting the ways in which people merge and re-combine with culture on a molecular level as a result of this near-constant immersion. They present stimulating, lysergic sounds in an organic and explorative manner instead of the sometimes exhausting vibe of highly-calculated, experimental club music.

It's been a while since we decided to open and launch this new project, we were just waiting for the right moment, and maybe we waited too long. or maybe not. we were a little stucked by the indecision of when to put it out, how to contextualize, and all the usual "psychological" practices that one faces before starting a new journey. but ever since we received the masters of this wonderful concentrate of different minds, we have been looking forward to smashing it out. and whether it's the real right time or not, it's now finally here! the true meaning behind this capsule is not so definable in words, perhaps because it is an attempt to look back and forth at the same time, without getting lost in a one concrete definition. but when we got to the tracks, first individually, and then together, it came spontaneous to glimpse something new and unconventional as a whole. we are therefore proud to present another of our musical journeys, this time in certainly more experimental and odd territories. the sounds you hear can definitely be taken as the true manifesto of this new chapter.
