For mix number 20 in the PPRZ Podcast series, we have a mix from Portland's @othr_wrld

othrwrld is a trans femme DJ, producer, and self proclaimed "aural apothecary" using sound and atmosphere to open portals into new utopian possibilities for trans posthuman club creatures to experience collective immanence and healing.  Equally likely to find her sweating behind the decks at a late night warehouse rave enshrouded in fog, or sitting peacefully weaving textures in a dimly lit chillroom, othrwrld sits on the cutting edge of trans futuristic music from hypnotic/chaotic psytechno, bass, and ritualistic rhythms to slambient mind journeys, soundbaths and deep dubbed out dancefloors.  

othrwrld has lived in Portland Oregon for the past 6 years and has cultivated a strong relationship with the local nightlife/dance music community, while always pledged to prioritizing the queer underground.  In 2023 she started her own party/mix series "Club Liminal" a left field ethereal techno party for trans ravers and all who yearn to rave on the edge of reality.

Mix description: 
This mix was recorded in my home studio towards the tail end of a very overwhelming period of life where I was attempting to find both solid footing as well as expansion.  As tends to be my style I think this mix will ferry the listener on a well guided journey through realms both introspective as well as expansive, this time maybe trending more towards the melancholy, with a hint of dissociation.  I guess I was tapping into the experience of exhaustion I was having, and needing to give myself some space to rest and to just feel what I was feeling without any urgency to “solve” what I was going through.  The mix rides gentle waves rolling waves of energy, always with a strong gravitational pull towards the earth, towards center, a prayer for inner peace.  If you’ve caught me playing live anytime over the past month chances are you’ve heard at least one or two of these tracks woven into a set, including originals from my upcoming release with PPRZ.  I can’t wait for these songs to be out in the world and I’m honored to debut them in this context alongside lots of music I admire / am inspired by.
