DayzOne, a native of New Jersey, embarked on his lifelong musical journey in 1985 with the acquisition of Black Flag’s "My War LP." Growing up amidst the vibrant punk and hardcore scenes of central Jersey, DayzOne's passion for vinyl and live music solidified. Simultaneously, he immersed himself in the late-night broadcasts of NY Radio's Red Alert and Mr. Magic shows, where he discovered the cutting-edge sounds of hip hop sweeping the metro area.

His trajectory was forever altered in 1988 when he witnessed Cash Money's awe-inspiring performance at the DMC DJ championships. Inspired, DayzOne acquired his first pair of turntables and set off on a path that would define his career.

In 1990, fate intervened when DayzOne crossed paths with Spike La Rock at Planet X Records in New Brunswick, NJ. Under Spike's tutelage, DayzOne's vinyl education expanded exponentially. Planet X became a haven for hip hop, house, techno, and electronic music enthusiasts in Central Jersey. Spike introduced DayzOne to seminal records from Chicago, Detroit (including Mad Mike & UR), and late-night house anthems on labels like Nu Groove and Strictly Rhythm.

From 1990 to 1994, DayzOne thrived as a buyer at Planet X, honing his skills in tracking down vinyl treasures. Regular visits to Watts Music Distribution on Long Island solidified his relationship with Harry the Bastard, a pivotal figure in breaking techno and house classics in the US. These connections were instrumental in shaping DayzOne’s deep-rooted passion for electronic music.

In the mid-90s, DayzOne forged international alliances with electronic music pioneers like Dave Sumner (Function/Sandwell District) and Karl O’Connor (Regis). His efforts helped bridge the electronic music scenes of New Jersey, New York, and Birmingham, UK, culminating in collaborations that left an indelible mark on techno history.

Today, DayzOne remains a steadfast figure in electronic music, with over 35 years of dedication to vinyl culture. He founded Record Bin Rescue, a vinyl broker business specializing in rare disco, private press house, techno, and forgotten classics. His DJ sets seamlessly blend old and new, showcasing a diverse array of influences from traditional NY house to Detroit techno and disco.

DayzOne’s artistic evolution is encapsulated in his two-part mix. The first part pays homage to his eclectic tastes, while the second part features his live performance of original material, pushing the boundaries of electronic music with a fusion of vintage equipment and cutting-edge technologies. Through his relentless passion and innovative spirit, DayzOne continues to shape the landscape of electronic music, honoring its rich heritage while pushing forward with creativity and vision.
