Wherever you may be, if spring hasn’t sprung yet there, we‘ve got you covered with lovely Selina today. This next hour filled with funk, disco and boogie is the remedy we all need right now, filled the sunshine we‘re not getting and the lovey love we‘re all craving. Hopeless romantics and children of the sun, unite for this one.

Selina is a DJ inspired by the New York disco and Chicago house scenes of the '70s and '80s. Her sets typically feature house with driving percussion and vocals ranging from powerful and soulful to dreamy. However, she draws from a wide musical spectrum—for this one, she dives into floaty trance and house with the occasional cheesy pop number. Passionate about music’s therapeutic power, she is currently pursuing a master's in music therapy.

The Cover Mix: Polygonia

Swiss DJ/Producer Audrey Danza debuts for the Bassiani Podcast series with an hour and a half of her own music, composed mostly of her unreleased tracks as well as a few exciting collaborations. From tripped-out techno, to house and trance bent rhythms, this mix shows that Audrey’s course has been nothing short of impressive, from Geneva and now Berlin. Since her intro to the local scene back in 2019, she’s racked up a residency at multidisciplinary event space Motel Campo, played clubs from Panorama Bar to Circoloco to Robert Johnson and Fabric, and, as a means of rereleasing lost 80-90s records at first (and now her own productions as well), kicked off her label Proxima in 2020. She’s also been active in the world of Berlin nightlife, where she relocated since 2022, with frequent collabs with the Sound Metaphors family, from party series to collaborations around her label. On top of a busy schedule and a growing pile of remixes and from the ground up productions, Audrey stays the course. Her sound is a fusion of industrial beats and percussions, acid, 90s synths house, self-aware and constantly cross-referencing to sculpt a fleshed out world of sound that’s psychedelic and deeply immersive. Bassiani Podcast 268 is a signature mix of warped transmissions and assembly line beats, a gradual burn and sharp ascent to peak-time techno compiled by a leading light of the Swiss electronic music scene. For the 30th Herbarium we are proud to present two special guests - @bambi__dj and @beatricem._bait. They brought a trippy dubby journey to the table, loaded with unique sound design and spacious grooves. We love the feeling when every detail sits in the right place as in their selection of tracks and elements. This creates an insanely immersive effect and hunger for more. Bambi and Beatrice M. chose the plant Mint (mentha) for their mix. 🌿

Here’s some insight about why they chose their plant: 
Bambi and Beatrice M.’s musical palettes intersect in a very specific zone, with some key words like psychedelia and dub. This can apply to the club interface, but as the summer surfs by, their need for freshness and a soothing soundtrack for the season translates in this mix’s selections. Therefore the choice of plant felt pretty intuitive : mint. A plant that stimulates several senses at once : its vivid green evokes lushness and renewal, its scent is sharp, almost cleansing, and its taste - cool, tingling, slightly sweet - lingers like an echo… Just like their selections, mint stands at a sensory crossroads - refreshing the body, teasing the mind, and awakening something just beneath the surface. 𖧧

About Bambi & Beatrice M.

Beatrice M. and Bambi are two french DJs who met through intersecting music circles, which is what their duo is all about. Take a venn diagram with on one side, Bambi’s library ranging from deep techno to trance to house to triphop, and on the other side Beatrice M. with mainly dub and dubstep. The crossing point of the two circles is always somewhat a little dubby, a little psychedelic, sprinkled with friendship and fun.
