Carbon Based Lifeforms are Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Segerstad from Sweden. CBL itself was formed in 1996, as an offshoot from other projects, but soon became their focal point, culminating in their first release on 'mp3.com' in 1998.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (25th December) The competition has closed and the votes have been counted for the Solid Steel Mix of the Year 2015 and we clearly ended the year on a high, as the two most popular mixes both came from December. We pride ourselves at Solid Steel on showcasing some of the most diverse mixes out there and it was great to see voting across the genres, with Four Tet, Prayer, Rita Maia, Benjamin Damage, Bakradze, Jungle, Perc, Essential Mix from Coldcut & DK, Funkstorung, Caribou, DJ Madd influence mix, Session Victim, BreakBeat Lou, Tensnake, 90's hip hop mix from Prefuse 73, Armtone, Medlar and The Rammellzee & Aphex Twin mixes by DJ Food all scoring highly.

But there were two clear frontrunners that took most of the votes and it was the Modeselektor mix from the beginning of December that you decided was Mix of the Year 2015, with Jon 1st as a close runner up.

With the closure of the iconic Berlin record label 50 Weapons, we decided to hand over Solid Steel for a special double bill featuring label founders, Modeselektor and the artist that released the final album, Benjamin Damage. Modeselektor were up first with music from the label by Truncate, Untold, Atoms for Peace and Bambounou, plus tracks from Gabi, Ben Zimmerman and Benge. The German duo told us;
"50WEAPONS has been sort of a house that we built. A house for artists and their creative output. Now it's time to leave that house, but the house will always stay open. Open for anyone who needs inspiration or motivation. We are proud of each and every artist who developed their style using 50WEAPONS as an outlet, just the same way as we are proud of every release that has graced our and your turntables. This mix is one of many pillars of the legacy of 50WEAPONS that will hopefully live on forever. Hardcore will never die!"

DJ HATTA, head of Grasshopper Records is back for the magical 13th edition of the label series.

Hatta started to play DJ in ’96 as he was impressed by the festival called “RAINBOW 2000”. In 1999, 2000,he was invited to play at LX new year count down festival in Thailand .In 2002,he collaborated with Solstice Music to release Outback Eclipse Festival memorial compilation CD from the major records company. Hatta is known as the best distributor for domestic labels(Light Music, Fineplay Records) and Arcadia Records and many labels, contributing his great work for Japanese music market. In 2007, Hatta became A&R for Madskippers which is DJ Tsuyoshi’s label, in the same year he joined the Wakyo Inc to take care of distribution side for Wakyo Inc. In 2008,Hatta set up his own label called Grasshopper Records busy doing his online mix at top radio station every week. He has played as DJ in Universo Paralello, AeonGathering2, Clover Festival, Mechanoids, Land Gods Festival, The Experience. Nagisa music festival.Ozora Festival.Hadra Trance Festival, Tribe of Flog, Liquid Connective until now. His compiled CD V.A./Round of night Vol1,2 is selling on records shop /digital dl store.

While on an adventure in Australia in 1997, Taku found himself in Byron Bay, the hippie, surfer, party paradise of northern NSW.

There he discovered, and fell in love with the rave culture and psychedelic trance. Upon returning to Japan, Taku immersed himself in the Japanese rave and club scene. In 2001 he followed his destiny, and debuted as a techno and trance DJ. In 2002 he created the party Green Magic.

Exploring techno, minimal, goa, psychedelic, etc, he opened his mind to a wide range of styles and sounds hoping to find his niche. In 2011, he travelled to Brazil, and after attending the rave, Universal Parallelo, he discovered the genre psy-progressive; He was hooked.
This is the sound he is currently absorbed in, and currently unleashing on his many fans:

In 2014 and 2015 he played at, AND organised Green Magic, two massively popular outdoor parties, along with ultra exciting Green Magic indoor events as well.

TAKU – Live @ O.Z.O.R.A One Day in Tokyo 2016 Pumpui Stage

Odoriko developed her musical skills at an early age. She plays the mandolin, piano, flute, percussion, euphonium, trombone, and organ. At the age of 11, she was chosen from among tens of thousands of contestants at the National Electronic Organ Contest held by VictorTechnics in Japan, and performed a composition written by herself at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall. Naturally, DTM and DJ became familiar instruments for her afterword.

She is a real charmer on stage with lots of warmth and devotion in the music she plays, which leads you towards strong feeling of divinity and spiritual oneness with the creation.
Besides, her DJ guarantees are always partly remitted to the organizations such as orphanages. To contribute more to the society, a music label called Luca was launched with the support of her companions in 2012. All the profits from Luca are used for goodwill activities. Her dream is to change the world through conducting charity events, and also motivate and inspire everyone she meets for the life with full of compassion, love and gratefulness.
