Qualista launches its 3rd compilation 'Scents of Phaselis' consisting of 18 original tracks from soulful artists from all over the world. 

The brand dedicates this album to the Ancient City of Phaselis, which used to stand out with its perfume production due to the richness of its flora in ancient times, which is the inspiration to the name of album. Located at the skirts of Beydağları (Olympos), Phaselis was a Greek and Roman city with 3 natural harbors on the coast of ancient Lycia (Today's West Antalya) where in 333 B.C, Alexander the Great stayed and was welcomed with a golden crown. 

The artwork refers its lyrics and rythm to the heritage, fauna, flora and nature of the city. Inspired by the question of what would Phaselis smell and feel like  if it existed today, the artwork was created to capture the essence of the great city. A melting sun born from florals was accompanied by ruins and greenery to symbolize the prosperity of nature and how it will always live on.

In March 2023, under the warm and golden embrace of the setting sun, we found ourselves at the breathtaking Tiniri Camp in the south of Tunisia. 

The ever-shifting dunes served as the canvas for our live set, capturing the essence of an extraordinary time spent in the Sahara desert. Our performance is a tribute to the very pulse of nature and our connection to it through electronic and organic music. 

Big thanks to our hosts at Tiniri Camp, we had the most beautiful time and hope it reflects in the live performance we share with you all today.

‘Deep End’, Pandhora’s first 2024 release, maintains representative characteristics of their music: moments of calm preceding deep drops, dreamy keyboards, subtle progressions, and immersive sonic atmospheres. But, what else is behind this track?

The sonic impact of ‘Deep End’ is, in essence, a clear invitation to the dancefloor and to disconnect from the superficial aspects that can become visible in clubs and festivals. Although we may be surrounded by hundreds of people at times, we can feel alone, disconnected, and at times, dissociate.

Dealing with uncomfortable emotions is achievable through excitement and reconnecting with what we truly love: calm amidst chaos, love, harmony, and meaningful connections through music.

‘Deep End’ is inspired by those performances when connecting with music is not the focal point. Instead, music becomes another embellishment tainted by modern humanity, drug consumption, glamor, luxury, and the heavy use of cell phones. When family and friends are far away, and when home feels farther than ever, these situations can take their toll on artists.

While it might seem the inspiration for ‘Deep End’ arises from sheer criticism, it is merely a reminder to have a good time without disconnecting from what truly matters in life, going back to the essentials.

« Oghab » is the result of the collaboration between the french duo Pandhora and American - Persian singer/songwriter Aida Shahghasemi. Meeting at the crossing of their musical worlds, they provide us with this deep and soulful track. 

Lyrics are inspired by a traditional poem written in 1943 by Parviz natel-Khanlari. The absurdity of the human condition is depicted through the point of view of an eagle which would rather die immediately and free than live a hundred lives unmeshed in decay. 

This EP is completed by remixes from Alke Mist and Nacim Gastli.
Alke Mist on the first one, gives the original a darker, and more dynamic touch. Blending Techno and Deep House aesthetics to create a cutting edge alternative. On the other hand, Nacim Gastli is providing a hypnotic and chilled down remix, with a progressive build up and an oriental feel.

Hello friends! 
We started the summer season on the beautiful rooftop of Kleingarten, Istanbul. It was the grand opening of the year so it was very crowded and super fun to play!

This was our first hybrid set in a loooong time (since 2016 actually) and a challenging experience but in the end it was a rewarding one. We're grateful for everyone who got in the mood with us, danced, and shared joy! 

Many thanks to the original artists who inspired us to play guitar, synths and various samples on top of their wonderful craft.

Infinite Sahara Skies sweeps across dunes to the tune of Nomad Saleh’s dancing dulcimer, riding organic percussions that carry it all the way from the Island. 
Wrapping up the journey, Siwa swells from the ground up as we are smoldering through ruins of the Shali fortress, electric guitar in hand.

These grounds are one of the most isolated settlements in Egypt. In ancient times, they belonged to the revered Oracle of Amun, “the hidden one”. Today, we are delighted to encounter some of Siwa’s energy through the sounds brought back to us.

[Liner Notes]
Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Bora Uzer teamed up with Mynox and Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Vander to create "Let It Breathe". Birthed on a never-ending day of February in Turkey's dynamic city of Istanbul, this piece fuses elements of electronica, deep house, and modern pop. The lush vocals of Bora convey a certain epicurism and invite us to let go and accept life.

This EP is complemented by the alternative versions of psychedelic duo Pandhora, British talent Shunus, and Volt Milano residents Sound Shapes. Pandhora crafted a progressive & melodic reshape incorporating jazzy chords and upbeat grooves. Shunus came up with a different story, slowing things down with his downtempo sound signature and a relish of western vibes. To wrap up this release, the Italian duo Sound Shapes infused their remix with deep sounds and decided to go for a tense atmosphere which suits afterhours dancefloors perfectly.

Archetypal rhythms, otherworldly melodies, and galaxies of possibility converge in Pandhora, a solarpunk-inspired, electronic music project whose France-based founders, Amine and Rémi, seek community over accolades and wonder over predictability. 

Disenchanted with the confines of the corporate world, the duo left their respective engineering jobs in 2015 to embark on a sonic quest. Fusing psychedelia and electronica with moods of melancholia, mystery, and bliss, they began to craft in music their vision for personal and collective empowerment: the curation of dreams, the embrace of freedom, and reverence for the Earth.

The band’s emphasis on instrumental improvisation and artistic collaboration reflects their drive to innovate, share, and experiment. Pandhora’s music, and especially their live shows, elicit strong emotions and deep catharsis. Free-form, unstructured sounds combine elements of vocals, guitar, and keyboard. Ethereal rhythms and eclectic  euphonies usher audiences on a journey with the artists into collective dreamscapes and deep states of consciousness where the possible can be imagined and the true self envisioned. 

Since 2018, Pandhora has taken their live acts, including The Piper In The Sky, Deep Psychedelia, and Evasion, on the road to venues in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, and India. Join Pandhora on the quest to explore inner worlds and, together, heal and enhance the outer world.
