London born artist Made By Pete has been making big waves on the electronic music scene over the last few years. Key releases for labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Radiant and The Soundgarden has marked the rising DJ & producer as one to watch, and his music has already garnered support from Damian Lazarus, Keinemusik, Sasha, Audiofly and Pete Tong.

On ‘The Munich Affair’, Made By Pete teams up with multi-instrumentalist Tom Diesel for a seductive and tantalising house track, steeped in mystical melodies and a chugging groove that proves infectious! Accompanying track ‘Matriarch’ establishes itself with enticing shakers and reverberant hand drums, as Made By Pete teases otherworldly tones and spiritually charged vibes across a mesmerising and minimal deep groove, one for the mind, the body and the soul!

Made By Pete returns to Crosstown Rebels as he links up with Zoe Kypri for the anthemic ‘Horizon Red’.

Born and raised in London, DJ and producer Made By Pete has flourished in recent years, making appearances  around the globe from Set Underground (Tulum) and fabric (London) to Off Week (Barcelona) and beyond. Gaining  plaudits from leading names in Damian Lazarus, Keinemusik and Pete Tong, to name just a few, the UK talent has  crafted a string of stand-out releases via the likes of Flying Circus, RADIANT and Crosstown Rebels. Having first  touched down on the imprint in 2018 alongside Jem Cooke for ‘So Long’, with two further appearances since, he  opens the label’s 2023 schedule alongside R&B, jazz and Neo-soul singer/songwriter Zoe Kypri for the gripping  sonics of ‘Horizon Red’ - with the track set to be remixed by label boss Damian Lazarus in the coming weeks. 

“We caught each other’s attention whilst playing sets at Tobacco Dock in London, and the admiration was  mutual. We knew we wanted to create something that evoked feelings of the afterglow. That dissonant  feeling at sunset when the horizon is so fiercely beautiful, yet the inevitability of the day falling behind the  mountains is near. A dynamic track guided by rich chords, rolling organic percussion and Kypri’s powerful yet graceful vocals,  ‘Horizon Red’ is a euphoric and captivating journey balancing energetic builds with deeper moments, while Pete’s Dub strips things back as spiralling synths and hazy atmospheres take hold for a late-night trip.

When Sharam released his sophomore album Retroactive last year, we knew that some of the tracks needed to stand alone as singles, with remixers from some of the top names in house and techno to give them fresh, new dimensions. We begin our journey with the leading track “Arpi,” featuring two astounding remixes from Moonwalk and Dubspeeka and a new VIP mix from Sharam.

Moonwalk, fresh off a huge 2016 that saw releases on Stil Vor Talent and Diynamic among others, leave nothing to the imagination and dive headlong into a blistering remix that shows off the Italian duo’s studio chops. Punchy drums and a relentless, arpeggiated lead make their mix a bona fide heater on the floor.

Where Sharam’s original opts for big, bold arrangement, Dubspeeka (working here under his guise dubspeekaRMX) strips down everything to a raw, skeletal techno groove that paints Arpi’s melancholic lead over a canvas of brooding drums and bass. The result is an eerie, beautiful remix that leaves one with a concrete sense of longing.
