Banoffee Pies Records 19th release in the Original Series lands with a very special solo EP entitled "Static" from Melbourne based Producer/DJ, Pugilist. Alex has been making incredible selections of bass infused, UK and Dub tinged music for many years. A fitting welcome on BPR as the label hits it's 8 year anniversary since its inception in 2014. The platform continues to evolve with an ever growing number of releases representing different sounds across its sublabels and many blossoming side projects alongside.

To honour the frequent mood changes and feelings of relative isolation experienced in the last 2 years, the A side aims to reconnect those lost moments with "Déjà Vu" & "Future Retro" - both tracks channelling a UK centric sound for the dancefloor and a further proof of the depth and quality found across Pugilist's back catalogue. The B side flaunts a completely parallelled sound palette with "Static", a down tempo dubby track partnered by the beautifully stylish "Sky Blue". Breaka usually runs in very different circles, producing footwork, juke and DnB from his home in Leeds. These are the first tunes of his at a slower tempo to be released but you can certainly hear those influences loud and clear in these certified UK 125-130bpm bangers.

Anz makes her Hessle Audio debut with a club-ready three track EP, following releases on the label by Pearson Sound and Pangaea in July. Lead track 'Loos In Twos (NRG)' goes turbo, with a ruffneck bassline, clattering breakbeats and dramatic rave stab breakdowns all combining to memorable, killer effect. On the B side, 'Gary Mission' gets loose with disorientating flanged FX and a wriggling low end, with the minimal beat track 'Stepper' using sharp vocal snippets and chest-rattling sub to light up the dance. He knew that not answering wouldn't help him in the long run, but right now he couldn't face it. He would continue to live by the notion that what he didn't know couldn't hurt him.

Manchester party Off Beat make their first steps into the label world, launching a new platform to share their love of UK bass culture. For the inaugural outing, they've enlisted the talents of Breaka who's previous releases for Desert Sound Colony's Holding Hands, his own Breaka Recordings and Leeds' Stretchy Dance Supply have caused quite a stir since 2018. Titled The Startup, the two-tracker moves from UK bass grooves and warm subs on the A Side to jungle-inspired breaks on the flip; a perfect indicator of what we can expect from the newly-founded imprint in future.
