On September 16 2022, Jina Mahsa Amini died while being arrested by the Iranian morality police because she was not wearing her hijab properly. Her death led to one of the  largest Iranian protests in this century. A song called „Baraye“ became the anthem of Iranians who took it to the streets for women, life & freedom at the risk of their own lives. 
In July 2023 at Castle Studios, German citizens organized the Chainbreaker Song Camp. Together with Iranian singers, international artists and American producer Sylvia Massy they gathered for a week to write and record songs to inspire not only the Iranians in their fight for freedom and justice, but to help raise awareness worldwide. Around the world many believe we are in a state of emergency and that change is becoming mandatory, not only in Iran, but on a global scale.   

“Jina” is the first Chainbreaker song that will be released on September 13, 2023, leading up to September 16th- the day of remembrance of Jina Mahsa Aminiś death.
Like all the songs written at the Chainbreaker Song Camp, “Jina” is released under a creative commons license. This means that the song can be legally copied and shared freely, you are allowed to send the song beginning on September 13th to everybody you know, and ask them to do the same!

We hope that this song will become a wakeup call to humanity.  Looking at the history of mankind, we have been able to overcome so many obstacles through taking action. We are not slaves of our circumstances. We are able to join each other to enhance the situation of every human being.   

„When you left us that day, you opened the way, you broke all the silence and now we are awake.“  
This is the strong message of Jina and you can help us make it heard everywhere. Don’t get paralyzed by a problem, become part of the solution and speak up for those who have no voice!


In one year many Iranians have been arrested and executed for standing up against the regime.  Let us take action so that Jina’s death their deaths are not in vain.
