Drawing from icons like Jorge Ben Jor, Marisa Monte, Rita Lee, Seu Jorge and Toco, the Lisbon-based artist reimagines MPB, samba-rock and bossa nova through deep, groove-led frameworks that feel equally at home on the terrace at dusk or deep in the after-hours.

These aren’t maximalist flips—they’re subtle acts of translation. C4STRO lets the emotional weight of the originals breathe while stitching them into a pulse-driven continuum. Jorge Ben Jor’s Magnólia gains a hypnotic low-end shuffle; Rita Lee’s Cobra slithers with funk and bite; Seu Jorge’s Sábado à Noite drifts like a late summer breeze. With Ramirezz, Marisa Monte’s Eu Sei becomes almost spectral, her vocal suspended in dubby atmospherics. Closing on Toco’s Meu Rio, the compilation dissolves into sun-washed celebration, tying Lisbon’s Atlantic perspective back to Rio’s coastline.
