Chloé Robinson & DJ ADHD still aren’t short on fuel. In fact, they seem to only be boosted further by their own supply. With such weighty momentum driving forward their newly established identities, only one big question sits adjacent in the saddle: what’s next? It seems that they already have the answer. For the next release on Chloé’s Pretty Weird imprint, it’s a 4-track techno record reiterating the trusted adage of less being more. With an emphasis on space and silence placed intuitively, the duo’s highly anticipated debut single ‘Steamin’ is finally unveiled to the world.

‘Steamin’ is all serrated kicks, 909 drums and tenacious vocals that yell without inhibition, invoking the looseness of a party spiralling unphased into its collective apex. The track plays on Chloé and DJ ADHD's incredible diversity within their own sets; launching into a hard hitting, analog infused techno workout filled with razor-edged percussion and grime-influenced vocal chops. 'Steamin’' also takes a groove laden turn with a half-time left turn that provides surprises even within its eyes-down 4/4 nature.

With the release of ‘Steamin’’, Chloé Robinson and DJ ADHD take a further step into ubiquity after gaining notoriety for their high energy, versatile DJ sets. With a host more new music on the horizon, Chloé Robinson and DJ ADHD are soon to prove that ‘Steamin’’ is no flash in the pan, and with more surprises on the way, lightning can strike in the same place multiple times.

Early support on ‘Steamin’ has come from artists including Four Tet, Peggy Gou, Floating Points, Ben UFO, Caribou, Skrillex, Mary Anne Hobbs, Bradley Zero, Louise Chen, Bonobo, Saoirse, Zenker Brothers, TSHA, HAAi, I. Jordan, Logic1000 and Pearson Sound.

Chloé Robinson + DJ ADHD - Steamin

In four club-geared tracks, Kyoto-based producer Ko Yang maps the allure of floating off-world and the joy still here on planet earth. 

A founder and resident of Osaka’s long-running City Boy Lounge party, Ko Yang has been a steady contributor to Japanese music culture for the better part of a decade, hosting international and domestic artists at the homegrown CBL nights. 

The offering is rounded out by a remix from Alex Kassian, a major talent whose name has become synonymous with quality. 

The opener and eponymous track, A1. “Pony” - made for a friend who shares the name - kicks off with a chopped and distorted rolling break, indistinguishable and yet somehow familiar. Voices suddenly rush past, chords stab, and synths swell like fireworks shooting off an unforgiving planet. Ko Yang has wasted no time - we've arrived on his world. 

A2. “Gianism” opens with a wiggly, subby bass born to make a peak time statement. Soon some kind of pad - or engine - begins to warm up, cutting out suddenly just as dub chords blast off. A voice enters, beckoning in an unidentifiable language. A synth appears midway in some alien signature and time slows. We’re in deep space now. 

On B1., we’ve suddenly returned to planet earth. "Koinobori" is the name of the carp-shaped wind streamers that are flown during Japan's "Golden Week", a series of holidays at the beginning of Spring. Ko Yang's track is a worthy homage to the mood of this celebration: an elated chorus chants, children shout in joyful play, and melodic synths rise and turn our spirits toward the sun, toward warm, toward life on earth beginning again. 

The offering is rounded out by a remix from Alex Kassian, a cut of proggy, tribal euphoria that seems to lift off indefinitely, and is already bringing clubs to a froth internationally.

Estas piezas quedaron fuera de mis lanzamientos oficiales, pero forman parte de la historia que me llevó hasta donde estoy ahora. Con este compilado cierro un ciclo y dejo atrás esta etapa sonora para centrarme en un nuevo camino, con un enfoque más definido y una visión renovada sobre mi música.

FINNEST presents "Selina" by Sergio Bennett, Jorhav and Reniroots in its second reference of its "Groovy Series" division As the main cut, we find "Selina", a very subtle deep house track with a very beautiful groove and melodies from another galaxy that introduce you little by little along with the vocal stabs, in an irreversible magical state. As a second cut, "With You", incredible pads accompanied by a sexy vocal, make this track an essential, this time with a prettier groove, the vibe is wonderful, a top piece. In short, heating up the dance floor can be something wonderful, this great release from this Hispanic-Peruvian alliance cannot be missing from your playlist.
