This little Mix got buried under the madness and stress that came about as a result of the pandemic. I'd done this mix for the London Remixed Festival 2020, which was in fact my last gig before lockdown. "Islas is a collection of songs written on the Scottish island of Mull, during a trip I made in August 2017 in the middle of a very difficult year because of several health complications in the family and therefore it has become a very personal album. The island is a natural paradise, with almost nobody nearby, without urban sounds, transport or machinery, cold and sunny at the same time ". 

"The time that I spent composing in Mull and the islands that surround it, became my refuge, away from the typical parental duties and worries. The music that came out during this time represented an escape, but more than that, it became a re-connection with an internal place where everything is always OK. The composition process gave me a path towards calm and something else more inexplicable, cathartic. In this haven, the sounds and influences representing the best of my two geographical worlds, the UK and Mexico, mixed seamlessly. That is the essence of these songs “.

“Islas es una colección de canciones escritas en la isla escocesa de Mull, durante un viaje que hice en agosto 2017 en medio de un año muy pesado a causa de varias complicaciones de salud en la familia y por lo tanto es un álbum muy personal. La isla es un paraíso natural, con casi nadie cerca, sin sonidos urbanos, de transporte o maquinaria, frío y soleado a la vez”. 

“El tiempo que pasé componiendo en Mull y las islas que la rodean, se volvió en mi refugio, lejos de los deberes y las preocupaciones típicas de ser padre. La música que salió representó un escape, pero más que eso, se convirtió en un reencuentro con un espacio interior donde todo siempre está bien. El proceso de composición me proveyó de una ruta hacia la calma y algo mas inexplicable. Ahí se mezclaron los sonidos e influencias representativas de lo mejor de mis dos mundos geográficos, el UK y México… Es esa es la esencia de estas canciones”.

His virtual raves have been a staple of our lockdown experience and his full powered tropical bass DJ sets and visuals have lighted up many a recent Friday night but for this Sanctuary DJ mix Panther Panther takes us on a kaleidoscopic journey of blissful vibes including many of his own sublime productions and an exclusive from his own live act Xaman X alongside tracks from some of the best producers from the world of Downtempo and New Cumbia like Tribillin Sound, Bigote, El Barba Dub & El Búho amongst others.

Originating from Mexico and now residing in Bristol Panther Panther has been at the fulcrum of the city's tropical revolution with his Midnight Ritual parties. As a producer has also has several releases on various labels Folcore, Tropical Twista and Hawaii Bonsai and his live project Xaman X will release their debut EP later in 2020.
