I was obsessed with The Avengers as a teen and adored Emma Peel (Diana Rigg). I wrote and recorded this track, I think, in 2000/2001 when I was 16 or 17 in the little box room in my parents house using a 4 track tape recorder.

This is a song I wrote and recorded about the Eighth Doctor with my Mum when I was about 13 years old. So probably around early 1997. The music is all me with added backing vocals from my Mum. I wanted to submit the song for a music project at school and asked BBC Worldwide if I could because it included a soundbite from the movie... and they said "NO".

I’ve been watching the web series Carmilla... let me rephrase that... I watched the first 23 episodes in one go and find my weekends to be a dark and desolate place until the next episode is online. It suddenly occurred to me that ‘I Used To Feel Alive’ is pretty apt for Carmilla. I hope you like it.
