French producer Vici has been steadily carving out his place among drum & bass’s most respected names. Since his debut track “Fight” on True Bass Recordings back in 2017, he has gone on to release across a wide spectrum of influential imprints including Blackout, Eatbrain, Skankandbass, Kosen, and ProgRAM, while also hdelivering high-profile remixes for the likes of Noisia, Audio, and Neonlight. 2025 marked a career milestone with the release of his debut album Flashover on Annix and Simula’s Neksus Sound, which was met with critical acclaim and widespread support.

With a reputation built on uncompromising quality and fearless creativity, it was only a matter of time before Vici caught the attention of the artist-led label Evolution Chamber. Now, the imprint proudly presents his debut single on the label: “Never More / Shades Of Light (feat. īnkūbe)”.

“Never More,” opens with calm, euphoric pads that glide into a melodic bridge, subtly raising tension before erupting into a hard-hitting call-and-response drop that shines a bright light on Vici’s precision and detail in production. The track effortlessly shifts through moods and styles, from the track's powerful first drop into a restrained breakdown, before re-emerging with rolling drum patterns and, finally, an unexpected trip-hop switch that closes the track in striking fashion. It’s a track rooted in creativity, where every movement feels deliberate yet unpredictable.

On the flip, Vici teams up with long-time collaborator and vocalist īnkūbe for “Shades Of Light” which is an expansive, emotionally rich piece that reveals another dimension of his artistry and skillset. Opening with glistening pads and delicate atmospherics, īnkūbe’s vocal enters like a guiding presence, pulling the listener into an uplifting yet deeply moving soundscape. When the drop lands, it strikes a rare balance: powerful and heavy, yet elevated by īnkūbe’s vocal delivery, which adds a charged emotional depth. The second drop switches gears with a powerful half-time crescendo that bursts with euphoria and raw intensity, amplifying the track’s emotional core while driving it to new heights. Each progression builds momentum while maintaining a sense of weightlessness, making “Shades Of Light” feel like a journey through every emotion humanly possible. Reflected across overlapping dimensions born of divergent causal chains, the single thread of an age-old story spun its wondrous tale time and time again, each new weaving of its tapestry of tales garbed in novel forms but resounding with a similar refrain. In a land of heroes and legends, two knights quested for that which would rid their kingdom of a sorcerer’s malevolent curse. In the lands of a far distant future, a novel pharmaceutical allowed its patients to delve into the knowledge of their ancestors, watching the events of their lives as a silent observer to the collective memory that all held within. In the primal lands that lay under the cold embrace of a black sun, three wolves set out for new hunting grounds across the frigid north.

In each & every dimension, these linked souls each sought the treasure of knowledge lost, held in stasis by its isolation and eagerly awaiting its rediscovery. The mystical draw of such knowledge was constant, its tendrils of influence stretching beyond planar boundaries as it spurred those who heard its call to new feats of heroism. Thus it was in each of these dimensions, and thus it was in a final land, one in which two cowboys rode into the depths of the wilderness and in which saloons would soon sing the ballad of Scrugss & Sonny Jim.
