Park Shadow is the project of Finnish producer Joonas Lehtinen, a figure whose roots stretch back to the late '90s Tracker era (where many early seminal OG jungle / D&B tracks were first rooted production wise). A very personal vision of drum and bass, this project reflects a balance between natural formlessness and urban grit.

Park Shadow has (to date) released music on established labels such as Metalheadz, Dispatch, Straight Up Breakbeat, DSCI4, and Utopia Music.

Across 2 releases (in sequence) for Dispatch Blueprints, Park Shadow delivers music born from instinct - capturing a feeling in the moment of their creation, untouched by calculation or compromise. Preserving that raw spark of creation, while paying homage to the foundations of jungle and drum & bass.

Paperfunk Recordings is an independent drum & bass label focused on dark, technological and emotionally dense sound. Since its foundation, the project has been building its own territory within the scene, bringing together artists for whom character, concept and refined sound design truly matter.

The aesthetic of Paperfunk is rooted in cold futurism, industrial mechanics and internal tension. The label’s releases combine aggression and depth, heavy bass textures and cinematic atmosphere. It is the sound of night cities, metal and science fiction — music with pressure, scale and a clearly defined mood.

The label’s sonic identity is formed at the intersection of techstep and neurofunk: hard-hitting drums, viscous sub-lines, highly detailed FX and microscopic attention to the mix. Paperfunk consciously moves away from mainstream formulas, developing a darker, more conceptual and intellectually driven side of drum & bass culture.

A dedicated branch of the project is PPRFNK Tech — a line of in-house audio plugins and production tools. These utilities and sound design solutions are built within the label’s ecosystem and reflect its sonic philosophy: hardness, depth and technological precision. PPRFNK Tech strengthens Paperfunk’s connection with the producer community and extends the label’s influence beyond music releases.

The visual dimension is treated with the same importance as the sound. Cover art, video works and promo materials are assembled into a unified artistic system that supports the atmosphere of each release. Paperfunk releases are typically structured as complete stories with their own dramaturgy, visual code and emotional tone.

Beyond music releases, Paperfunk continues to grow an active community of producers, DJs and visual artists. Collaborations, compilations, guest mixes and media projects naturally extend the movement. The label operates as a platform for experimentation, artist development and the intersection of multiple creative disciplines.

The main vector of Paperfunk Recordings is the development of a strong underground sound and the expansion of the drum & bass scene’s boundaries while maintaining independence and a distinctive signature. The project continues to evolve as a cohesive ecosystem where sound, visual art and technology operate within one unified logic and amplify each other.
