The siren howls so low it makes the ribs ring. One word flares on the board — SHATTER. Netsphere drops the visor. In her headset, a dry voice: “Paperfunk Recordings. Arena Three. Contact in eight.”

There’s no count — time stretches into a single string. The bass hammers fate from the inside, engines cut the air. The track is a needle’s eye between rusted frames of cars and broken overpasses: one mistake and you’re thrown into the white noise of the ether.

A rival’s shadow slides past, spraying sparks. “The crack isn’t in the metal. It’s in you,” she thinks. The shatter point is the instant your hand reaches for the brake. Either you go through, or it breaks you.

Pedal buried. Instruments blacked out. The bass settles into a steady heat. A blind turn — a hair from the rail, where the air hasn’t been taught to fear yet.

The finish flashes white. A two-beat pause.

It wasn’t her that split today — it was the track. Build another. Faster.

When war decided to become mathematics, the sky flared with the cold light of coils. The world was offered an equation instead of a duel: trajectories, drift, sterile distance. And yet from the shadows steps out the one who doesn’t read formulas—he breaks them. A hand on the axe haft, breath steady, eyes like a sight without electronics. His school is steel, dust, and years of errors already paid for.

The perfect weapon calculates, and therefore predicts. Predictability becomes its fracture. A step on the wrong beat, a swing that lingers half a count longer, emptiness where the math says the target must be—and all ballistics shatters like glass under a blow. NERV3’s music captures precisely this moment: the lows hum like coils, but the rhythm slips off the grid; the drums compress and then tear the metronome apart, turning distance into a trap. Every part is not ornament but a close-quarters technique: a feint, a interception, an entry straight through the targeting diagram.

The climax comes when the charge scorches the air for the last time. He moves into the dead zone where instruments are helpless, and a single hewing arc splits the calculation like paper. The silence after is not a pause but a verdict on the system. “Gauss Cannon” is not a bow to technology but a challenge to it: an EP about a hand defeating a formula, about craft outlasting the algorithm. “Gauss Cannon” is the Paperfunk manifesto: where technology hits its limit, skill and mastery decide.
