'Settle In' is the entrancing new single by Brooklyn-based artist Haleh Liza featuring playful and moving lyrics, sparkling electric guitar lines, warm vocals, and a thumping bass drum.  There is an intimacy and a mystical quality to the song as if she's both whispering in the audience's ears and sending listeners comfortably floating through space.  

In late August of 2014, a couple of people from the Brooklyn-based company INDMusic invited Haleh Liza to perform a tune as part of their Great Outdoors Series with Daily Motion. While sitting around a campfire under the moon, they filmed her playing 'Settle In' and it seemed clear to everyone present that they had just heard a magical new song.  That very night she was offered a record deal with the boutique label Paper Garden Records and agreed the following week to release a series of singles that had been glowing in her pockets for years.  'Settle In' is the first of these luminous folk tunes.

Bonobo -  Black Sands

I've been recording this piano record in my living room with a lovely American made Charles Walter upright piano that I found on Craigslist - or maybe it found me - but this record captures three weeks in June when I create some compositions with it and added a few string parts as well.  Enjoy.

‘Night Wave’ is a recording that is a grand production that features some fantastic musicians.
Composed by Zeb Samuels, Joshua Mckenzie (aka Mcknasty) on drums and Byron Wallen on Trumpet.

Mcknasty is a name that many will associate with the UK Jazz scene & most recently as part of the Kamaal Williams project, as well as for working with the likes of Wretch 32 and Plan B. Here on ‘Night Wave’ we hear Mcknasty adding delicate drums to the production that is recorded with an abundance of warmth. Recorded at the prestigious Rubix Studios in London, the drums here contain a beautiful energy that brings light and spirit to the record.

Throughout the recording, we also hear the magical tones of Byron Wallen, who is a Trumpet player that holds a prestigious title as a musician. Byron has worked with the likes of George Benson, Chaka Khan, Courtney Pine and Lonnie Liston Smith to name some career highlights. Wallen also won the BBC's Innovation In Jazz award for his third album ‘Indigo’ and performs a mystical solo towards the end of this song that is silky smooth on your ears.

On Rhodes, pads and Vocals is Zeb Samuels. Zeb also produced and mixed the track and is a display of his talents as writer, composer, producer and performer.

On remix duties are Feverkin and Julien Marchal.
The Feverkin remix continues the journey of mellow vibes, but adds his unique twist on the record that brings a new energy to these magical compositions.

Lastly in this presentation is the Julien Marchal improvisation of ‘Night Wave’.
A classical interpretation of the track, that can only be described as pure genius.

My dad gave me a day of recording live in his friends studio as a x-mas present, and I did 10 somewhat juvenile recordings that day...I wanted to share this funny ditty as some people have been asking me about old recordings lately...Love to you all I could not keep doing this (or trying to) without you! <3
