Immediately after the release of his debut EP 'Episodes' on Oumami Records, which is a must-listen, Kashama proves that he's much more than a songwriter, rapper and singer with his Spicy Session. Beyond his trinity of hip-hop, R&B and funk influences, the young Parisian multitalented artist nurtures a sincere and contagious passion for house music as a DJ. For Paprika, Kashama explores this little-known facet of himself in an exhilarating 35-minutes set, with just as many shades of the genre.

“At first sight, one might think that I only draw inspirations from rap and R&B, but I also draw a lot from house music. It's a genre that has always followed me through life. Whether it's certified anthems like Marshall Jefferson's “Move Your Body” or Soundcloud gems like Weast's “Cocola”, I explore every aspect of the genre to the fullest. For this set, I wanted to play with deep house, the edges of pop and energetic synths. I included my track “Mind Full of Dreams” for those who discover me. Enjoy!” — Kashama

Apocalypse ❌ [IIII]

“La Haine” is a futuristic and spacey afrobeat, where polyrhythms collide with swirling percussive patterns and deep, resonant bass. The voices of Yend and NegoO drive the track’s momentum, layering textures that feel both organic and otherworldly. Strasbourg-based multidisciplinary artist Yend, brings a vibrant, intricate vocal delivery that adds depth and dynamism. On the production side, NegoO—a Portuguese DJ and producer—infuses “La Haine” with Batida, the raw and percussive dance sound that emerged from Lisbon’s afro-diasporic club scene. Shaped by his upbringing in the neighborhoods that have fostered some of Batida’s biggest names, NegoO delivers a fresh, energetic take on the genre.
