Dystopie Solaire #8 - Gare du Nord invite Ansonica

NYC leftfield disco darlings Phenomenal Handclap Band made their first appearance on Razor-N-Tape by way of a collab with JKriv in 2022, and now they return for an offering all their own, the ‘Burning Bridges EP’.  The title track juxtaposes riffy guitar driven funk with plaintive vocals that smack of 1970s Heart in the best way, and Prins Thomas turns the tempo knob up a few clicks and launches into an extended interstellar excursion with his remix.
On the B side the cinematic slow burner ‘It Was The Summer’ begins sparse and hazy and builds to a driving peak of backbeat rhythm and an insistent vocal soliloquy.  Each Other (Justin Strauss & Max Pask) then take the tune straight to the rave with arpeggiated and acidic synths, recasting the haunting vocals as a modern New Wave anthem.

The night had been long, the moon would soon disappear to be replaced by the glow of the morning but it would be hard to forget what had come before. How could he when the darkness had engulfed not only the world around him but his very soul itself?

Perhaps this was the way it was meant to be, although it did seem bittersweet that he might get to wake to a brand new day whilst another may not.

This world was a fickle, funny place

And like that the sun rose, another day was born and he had little left to do but to forgive himself once more.

Groundbreaking artist and producer Chris Korda and rising NYC-born/Berlin-based artist and producer André Baum have collaborated on a stellar new EP for alt electronic label Foom. The record showcases both musicians versatility and unique approach to sound design. This track is a reimagined version from the record by Chris Korda.

Scott Ferguson came to house and techno in one of its most fertile grounds - Detroit, in the mid 90s. Since then he has served up his own take on the timeless genres on a range of quality labels. Now he arrives on Chateau Chepere with four more of his stylish cuts. They are couched in deep house as always but with cues taken from future jazz, garage and plenty in between. These are real winter warmers that will seduce an early evening crowd or lock in a 5 am dance floor in equal measure.

PREMIERE : Scott Ferguson - Anthony's Alright

⛓Uygar, a.k.a. Serpico, is a music selector who started his career in Eskişehir, Turkey. Initially, he shared his selections under the genres of post-punk, synth wave, and krautrock in Peyote.

As time went on, Serpico's music evolved, and he began to blend different genres, such as funk, disco, bossa nova, afro boogie, and house, into his sets. He prefers to define himself as a selector rather than a DJ, as he places more emphasis on selecting and curating music rather than simply playing it.

Serpico has gained further recognition for his work as a music director at Soweto in Izmir and for his residencies at Swim Club and Wu Yalıkavak in the Bodrum district during the summer seasons. He has also performed at various venues such as Arkaoda, Bina, GizliBahçe, MiniMüzikhol, Tavern, Noh Radio. He is also member of MAZE.

Serpico's sets are known for his eclectic selection of music, often starting with disco to create a lively atmosphere before unleashing his vast music archive, which ranges from house to post-acid and breakbeat. With his eclectic taste and impeccable track selection.

The Imaginarium is a unique pearl gleaming within the beautiful galaxy of Lithuanian festivals. Super small in size, yet abundant in beauty of all kinds, the festival is – first and foremost – about the joy of the creation process. This is an essential aspect of human growth that is often overlooked during modern-day events.

Pretty Much tribe nurtures a culture of support, mutual creation, and skill-sharing. With every third person of the collective having learned how to use the DJ decks, it was only natural to take a step forward into music production. This is how five producers were paired with six beginners to go on a unique musical journey together for this compilation of six tracks. Each of them explores the idea of connectedness because the main theme of The Imaginarium VII was about transforming aloneness into oneness.

We believe that genuine and meaningful connections are what every human being truly seeks. The question then is: what if some of the energy put into hyping up people with big names was redirected into fostering co-creation? How much is it possible for a person to open up due to the environment?

To answer this, Pretty Much tribe has built a utopian village that values sharing over commerce. A space where every individual can bask in the sun of imagination by playing an important part in the collective.
