A beautiful cross section example of everything that contemporary techno has to offer nowadays, is given on The Nursery’s 14 th . It’s high quality stuff, coming from three Italian producers and one from Berlin. And not just demographically seen is this a versatile EP, also in terms of the music itself there is a great variety of influences to be found within these four tracks. Manuel di Martino’s and Marco Bruno’s opening tracks breathe Detroit, meaning dreamy synths backed by the unmistakable drums of a 909. Lastly, a more fitting closing than Mas Teeveh’s ambient-like ‘Sogno Condiviso’ is unimaginable. Few things are as satisfying as EP’s like these, where four various artists from such different backgrounds find their solo tracks blending into a narrative as sincere as this one. But then again, that’s what The Nursery has been all about so far.

Longtime resident of the label Stefan Vincent offers up Dynamic Reflection’s 37th vinyl, a four tracker consisting of three distinct original mixes from Stefan’s own hands and a remix by the fellow Dutchmen Artefakt. 

For everyone who has heard of Stefan Vincent and his music before, it’s no secret that he favors the use of melody and melancholy to bring purport to his tracks and The Spaces Between Time is no exception. While peculiar parts of sound design do their job by keeping things in motion at all times, lush pads find their counterpart in the familiar sounds of vintage drum machines that lay the foundation of these contemporary pieces of techno.

Add to that a very dreamy yet effective remix by Artefakt on the A2 and the tone is undeniably set. DREF037 is the kind of patiently evolving and expanding techno that crowds just will not get enough of, guaranteed.

NYC-based, Georgia-born producer Julia Govor has launched a multidisciplinary art project and record label called Jujuka, which is also an ongoing collaboration with London-based Illustration duo Le.BLUE who will pair each release with a visual narrative.

The vision behind the label is to showcase music as well as short narratives, true stories, comics and illustrations, where the artists behind the material are able to go beyond what the conventional record label offers. The debut release consists of three relentless, hypnotic and captivating cuts, including the whirling dancefloor banger titled '1984', which is exclusively premiered via Mixmag here.
