DIE SOLIS- EXODUS <UDGK>

My first creation in 7 years. A sonic soundscape, inspired by an interview with a catatonic schizophrenic and my melancholic jazz piano. 
I wanted to do justice to this interview which is uncomfortable to watch and explore issues with mental health in this chaotic audiolandscape.

A whirlwind of sampled cellos, string and choirs lead you to a swing jazz smorgsboard of samples from pool balls to meditation balls and much more.

To Play Piano For People

I got asked to get a mix together for the ever excellent electronic/electro podcast 'Modulations' by @Agent808...so I thought I'd do something a little different. 
This mix is an homage to that period 1990-1992 when the breakbeat sound morphed into hardcore. House music may have been my first love, but she got well and truly jilted during that period....well, for a while at least!
I think it's wonderful that a new generation of producers are hearing this music and re-interpreting it in new and interesting ways, so there's only one old skool track on this mix, and a modern take on another. 
I do think you'll agree that the spirit is alive and kicking in the rest of this mix. It's an homage to the following venues, parties and DJs that blew my mind weekend after weekend:

Here's a recording of my Live Set at Festival Forte made using modular synthesisers and hardware machines. It's a bit rough in places, but you can hear the music being created and destroyed as it's happening and I love that most about performing improvised live sets. So I wanted to share the recording with you.
