The first Moodfamily release brings co-founder and Belgian strong man AMyn to the table. 

The first track is the title track of the EP called 'Twisted River'. It’s a musical work that takes you a few years back combining a steady groove with an abstract melody that reaches beyond audible frequencies which will haunt dancefloors everywhere. It grabs and releases tension while it flows like a – you guessed it – twisted river.

Canson delivers a melancholic and deeply personal variation on the original twisted melody. While his piano hypnotizes, the main melody is cut, sliced and placed carefully, provoking subtle escapes from the main theme.  

The bassline brings more focus to this new mood which is created throughout the track by not grabbing the attention but rather fueling a sensitive groove. This brings the song into a completely new atmosphere fueled by a haunting synth which builds gently as the song evolves. 

The B-side, 'Gloam' might as well be the A-side as it requires somewhat more attention, but after listening to it for a few times it sticks to your mind. The melody is looming and it moves freely over a careless groove. It is a tad slower, but this allows a clear pronunciation of the musical phrases.

Sintetizzatrice is the first recorded document of the collaboration between veteran DJ and producer Donato Dozzy and female vocalist Anna Caragnano. Through his solo work, and in his collaboration with Giuseppe Tilleci (Neel) as Voices from the Lake, Dozzy has achieved some of the most remarkable vistas contemporary electronic music has seen since the turn of this century. By removing himself from his areas of mastery to shift his focus on the voice, he has achieved a new peak with Sintetizzatrice. Over nine tracks, Dozzy works exclusively with the voice of Rome-based vocalist Anna Caragnano, with no other instruments. Heavy layering and effects processes are used to display an astoundingly versatile voice-centric vocabulary. Rarely can a record morph from R&B to kosmische, through traditional Italian folk music, to Fluxus styles and traditional chamber choir with no additional instrumentation. Just a singular, beautiful voice. The results are simply phenomenal. With the opening, "Introduzione," an immeasurable cosmic weight arrives and remains through the duration of the album. "Star Cloud" ascends with melancholy extended drones that evaporate concepts like time and being, rendering basic human perceptions void all the way through "Parallelo." "Parola" dances around the stereo field with dazing rhythms and melodies, while "Festa (A Mottola)" is an homage to the traditional music found in the rural region where, coincidentally, both Dozzy's mother and Caragnano were born and raised. The album's closing pieces "Love Without Sound" and "Conclusione" hit hard in a way to which no words can do justice. By fearlessly entering uncharted territories, Dozzy and Caragnano have made a collaboration which is truly experimental. Sintetizzatrice is a grand debut for Anna Caragnano and a fantastic twist for Donato Dozzy. Produced and mixed by Dozzy at Alaska Studio, Rome, in 2014. Mastered by Giuseppe Tilleci at EnissLab Studio, Rome. Transferred to tape by Pietro Micioni, Angelo Compagnoni, and Massimo Zuccaroli at Village Studio, Rome. Nights are coming and going and faces appear and vanish, great plans are made and rarely held up to. While that is the mode that keeps the machine running, from time to time something greater can evolve out this fast paced spare time profession. That is to say, it is a great pleasure to smooth the way for our dear friend »Kleintierschaukel« and his »Blue Elephant«.

A rare species whose origins are found in »Motomia« (A1), that odd place where sticky clocks tick faster than time passes. Still all confusion is lost in the calm whispering of Juliette (A2), a harmony of strange confidence. Despite all its apparent harmlessness, it needs the soothing voice of our all beloved Leonie to let its vast figure withdraw to the rivers and show the gentle nature of this »Unterwassermann« (B1). Back in his element all notches are smoothed out and movements unite in a rythmic flow. This is not a documentary, this is the Blue Elephant: »TV Ende« (B2).

All echoisms aside: We are very happy to have Mr. »Valentin Stip« from Montreal himself contribute his interpretation of »Motomia« (D), a delicate dissection, reunited to a greater interaction of the most gentle kind.

Acid Pauli (@acidpauli) and Nico Stojan’s (@nicostojan) Ouïe label acts as home for left-of-centre music from disparate sources - somehow connected by a thread of hedonism with a melancholic edge. Welcoming Kerala Dust (@keraladust) to the imprint, this four tracker showcases the different dance floor shades the label always reaches.

Kerala Dust are a London based trio that owe as much to Tom Waits as they do to Four Tet or DJ Koze, but somehow tread a fascinating line between genres and moods. Mixing jazz, indie and the sharper end of the club sound, Francesca’s Frames is the perfect introduction to their vibe.

'Maria' is augmented with a thick, mid tempo kick and sparse, effective percussion. The clever vocals provide the topping - showcasing the band’s pop writing prowess. The track will appear as a single release on 6th April accompanied by a music video.

Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan’s remix picks up the pace a little, while dubbing out the elements into deep, late night dance exploration.

'Nyla' brings a new vibe, deep, pulsing synths and a bubbling baseline accompany the crisp, compressed rhythm track before Ed’s iconic croon arrives to take the track to a new level.

'Wires' balances occasional piano chords, horns, blips and beeps with a nicely understated tech house groove. The seemingly disparate elements combine to create a vibe that will go over big with the parties and dance floors within the ever-expanding Ouïe ecosystem.
