Elpis means hope in greek (hellenic).
I begun creating sketches of Elpis as part of an acoustic-electronic collaboration with AnantaSound, at the beginning of summer. As the days went by, I found myself getting immersed in the motifs that sprung. I tried to keep the piano track relatively airy so additional sound could fill up the space. By the end of summer, a friend of mine and exceptional violinist, offered to record a few tracks. So this is an acoustic version of Elpis. I hope you enjoy it!

Elpis

Dedicated to my aunt who passed away a few years ago. Based on a poem, I wrote back then.

"Musical sounds vibrate the loneliness of my heart.
Pulsating shapes search for her body.
Melancholic tranquility, total memory loss, in the abyss of a mind that stopped talking about simplicity and harmony.
Her glow will always guide me.
Her voice reflects in me:“Love each other, forever”.

I am sorry not being there for you till the end.
You loved me as if I was your own child.
You filled my life with unattached images.
I thank you. I think of you. I love you."

I really wanna thank Jens Felger who collaborated with me in this track. His guitar performance speaked so deeply in me. Especially for this track, he created a deep emotional space. His work and interests move across and beyond various genres of music. You can access him @Jens-felger.

Ode to Olympia - featuring Jens Felger

This was a music entry to the 2017 International Animated Film Music Competition, organised by the Athens Concert Hall. Each contestant had to provide original music for the award winning short animation “The leaf of the poplar” by Eirini Vianelli.

The cues of music that were provided were based around piano and simple vocals lines. For the creation of the sound design specific audio was recorded and samples from the collaborative database freesound.org were used.

Ode to Olympia

An isolated and almost unknown beach to most of citizens/travellers, on the coastline of Kavala city. The tranquil recording of the sea was made using an LS11 and primo mics, about 2m away from the seashore.

I Constantinos, work as a high school physicist, because I love inspiring students to understand the essence of science. Teaching is not my only passion, though. I like creating things and composing music. Paradisenauts grew out of my desire to write music with meaning, both in the music itself and in the causes the music supports.
