My take on the Disquiet Junto 0721 project. The theme is "well-weathered" and the assignment was to play along to a storm. The field recording of the storm I used is from a recording by Pulswelle of a storm near Hamburg, available on Freesound.org: https://freesound.org/people/pulswelle/sounds/320916/ 

The drone is generated by the duo of Make Noise semi-modular synths: Strega and 0-Coast. The bass was played straight into my interface, and just improvised. The guitar went through a boss DD-3 digital delay set to a very short slappy setting, which went into a DigiTech DL-8 delay-looper on the tape setting, and finally into a Strymon Iridium for amp modelling. I improvised largely aiming for texture, trying to make the harmonics sound like drops of rain, and not minding happy accidents of clicks and pops and a few clear notes throughout.

Storm Meditation (Disquiet0721)

Made for the Disquiet Junto. The theme this week was Spook Street, spook being taken either as scare or spy or anything in between. Mine is very much inspired by John Carpenter's soundtracks to his own films, particularly Halloween and The Thing.
