'Escape' is the latest solo single by Irish singer/ songwriter Pete Mac. Featuring the guest vocals of iconic musician/ artist Lisa Papineau.
The track was written during the Covid lockdown period with Pete experimenting with different sounds. The tracks theme is about escaping into a world within a world.
'Escape' takes a different direction to Pete Mac's previous acoustic solo endeavors, creating a dark wall of melodies and sounds which are enhanced by the haunting vocals of Lisa Papineau.

Lisa has released four solo albums, and is the songwriter and vocalist for Los Angeles band Big Sir alongside musician Juan Alderete. Papineau is a frequent collaborator of Japanese composer Jun Miyake and has also written songs for and recorded with other bands and solo artists, including Air, M83, Halo Orbit, ME & LP, Renaud-Gabriel Pion, Jam Da Silva, Dinho Ouro Preto, Anubian Lights, Farflung, P.O.D., Omar Rodríguez-López, Scapegoat Wax, Scenario Rock, Arman Méliès, Mandrake, Sissy Bar, and Crooked Cowboy and the Freshwater Indians.

Papineau received initial recognition when her band Pet, co-founded with composer Tyler Bates, was featured on The Crow: City of Angels soundtrack, and later the Blue Note Records soundtrack for The Last Time I Committed Suicide. Pet's self-titled album was executive-produced by Tori Amos.

Pete Mac is the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of Irish based Alternative Rock outfit Paradox. Not your typical Singer/Songwriter Pete Mac has branched out from his band Paradox and taken his Alternative melodies and musical frustrations and infused them into his solo endeavors.

 On October 24, 2010, Sub Pop Records’ VP of Sales, Director of Marketing, and remarkable friend Andy Kotowicz died as a result of injuries he suffered in a terrible car accident three nights previous. He was 37 years old and he is dearly, profoundly missed. The Andy Kotowicz Family Foundation was established in an effort to help provide for Andy’s wife Jocelyn and his young daughter Anna. An auction on CharityBuzz.com featuring items from Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Muse, The Simpsons and more is open for bidding now until December 14th. In addition to the auction a concert is scheduled for December 4th at Seattle’s Showbox at the Market with performances by many of the bands Andy worked with at Sub Pop as an A&R representative. Finally, there will be a benefit show held on December 8th, Andy’s birthday, in his hometown of Ann Arbor/Ypsi.

These shows and events, the wide array of auction items collected below, all are partial testament to the very full life lived by our friend. Paradox are an Alternative Rock/ Grunge band from Cork, Ireland. Formed in 1996 by brothers Pete Mac and Mike Mac the early Paradox sound was heavily influenced by the Grunge Era of the 90's.The band has shaped and evolved their sound over the years while still maintaining their Alternative Rock sound. Paradox have released 4 studio albums to date. Their debut album 'Circle of Growth' was recorded in Los Angeles in 2000 and released on a US label. Their second album 'Sacred' was recorded and released in 2004, 'Corporate Pollution' was released in 2011 and their new album 'Chapters' released January 2015. Singer and songwriter Pete Mac also recorded and released a solo album in 2009 in Berlin, Germany. 
'Corporate Pollution' marked a further evolution in the Paradox sound and received the most attention from any of the bands releases. From the opening track 'Corporate Pollution' with it's churning guitar riffs and political sneers the track seems to somewhat set the tone for the rest of the album. One reviewer noted that the album had 'so many influences it's hard to list them all, the music is solid, timeless and to the point'. 
Another review from Loud-Stuff.com added - 'Maybe the ultimate compliment you can pay to this album is that you could listen to it between Nirvana's In Utero and Alice in Chains Dirt and it's every bit as good'. 
'Mr. Bureaucracy' was chosen to be the first single with it's fast pulsing riffs and melodic vocal refrains. The band also shot a music video for 'Mr. Bureaucracy' in 2012 which was nominated for best song at the Berlin Music Video Awards, Dublin International short film and music awards the Portobello Film Festival London in 2013.
In 2012 the 'Corporate Pollution' track 'Repress Excess' was used on the soundtrack for Canadian horror movie 'Truth' which screened at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Canada International Film Festival's Royal Reel Award. 
Paradox have toured both Europe and the US as well as playing support to the likes of Therapy?, Kerbdog and Shonen Knife in 2013. 
2014 saw Paradox back in the studio recording their 4th album to date at Wavefield Recording Studios in Bantry, West Cork with multi tasking musician and engineer Brian Casey on the desk. 
Titled 'Chapters' the 14 track album combines a variety of new sounds some of which have not yet been heard on any previous Paradox album.
