@ahu_sohrab is a Berlin based Iranian Artist who began his musical exploits in a punk band in Tehran but time and space and inertia have distilled his music into a rare spiritual essence, with a delicacy and evanescence like memory.
With his Acid Train in this trip, he guided us  through some 90s nostalgic spiritual spirits.

Born in Tehran and shaped by a world of diverse sounds, Armii1n embodies the spirit of a new generation of DJs. In his early 20s, he moved to Malaysia and Southeast Asia, where his passion for music was ignited. Starting his journey in 2018, he brought an open mind for experimentation and a sharp ear for intricate sounds, delving into the sub-culture of electronic music.
During his time in Southeast Asia, Armii1n performed at some of the region’s most esteemed venues, including Elysium Kuala Lumpur, where he held a Sunday residency, Kyo Club Malaysia, and Baba Beach Club Phuket. He collaborated with regional powerhouses such as Ohrwurm, The Sweatbox, and Beatmilitia, sharing the stage with both local talent and international icons. His ability to craft immersive journeys earned him performances alongside legends like Carl Craig, Jay Tripwire, and Archie Hamilton, solidifying his presence in the Malaysian and Thai music scenes.
In recent years, Armii1n moved to the United States to further his artistic and personal growth. While living in Miami, he performed at top venues and events, continuing to hone his craft alongside celebrated acts. Now based in New York City, he is immersing himself in the city’s rich music culture and exploring fresh sounds and inspirations.

A true pioneer of Iran’s underground electronic music scene, Amirali, better known as Koti, is a name that commands deep respect. For over a decade, he has played a pivotal role in shaping and elevating the culture of electronic music in Iran. A master of his craft behind the decks, Koti’s influence extends far beyond the booth—his work has inspired an entire generation of DJs and producers, leaving an undeniable mark on the country’s evolving soundscape.

From Berlin’s pulsating nightlife to the raw energy of Tbilisi and his hometown of Tehran, Koti’s name on a lineup is a magnet for Iran’s electronic music enthusiasts. His ability to craft immersive journeys through sound has made him one of the most sought-after selectors in the region.

Beyond the club scene, Koti is an active figure in Iran’s theatre and performing arts community, where his expertise in sound design has elevated some of Tehran’s most compelling productions. Notably, his work on Navid Mohammadzadeh’s acclaimed play “Funfair” was nothing short of brilliant, showcasing his ability to manipulate sound as an essential storytelling element.

Koti was also a huge supporter and a great help as one of the founding members of Adaptor Records, a groundbreaking platform dedicated to fostering Iran’s electronic music culture. Adaptor is much more than a record label—it hosts events, curated broadcasts, and is home to Tehran’s first physical record store specializing exclusively in electronic dance music. Through projects like “Off Color”, a series of in-store sessions recorded in both audio and video, Adaptor has become a crucial hub for the city’s underground sound. Even Paraffin Tehran’s founder, Azim Fathi, has been part of this series, further strengthening the connection between these two influential platforms.

“My work is heavily inspired by field recordings I have taken whilst travelling,” Adam McCoy told Myles Mac earlier this year. It’s a statement that could easily be attributed to any artist on Analogue Attic—a label pushing the boundaries of music’s ability to evoke a very specific sense of place and time—but it feels particularly apt when listening to ‘Northern Angelique’, the opening track from Citizen Maze’s forthcoming record of the same name. 

Before completely enveloping you with unfathomably deep drum sounds and pulsing synths, we hear the quotidian call of a flight announcement; more specifically, a flight from Sydney to Uluru. This bit of ephemera may be fleeting, but like the other field recordings peppered throughout ‘Northern Angelique’, it’s absolutely essential—a declaration to both the passengers and the listener of the journey ahead.

Similar to 2018’s locally lauded Serenity in the Woods, the production on Northern Angelique is as inventive and immersive as ever, but what separates this record from the last is that McCoy is more openly embracing the expansive style of electronic music he first explored on Serenity. From the boomy bass throb to the layers of synths and effects that keep the track in constant flux, ‘Northern Angelique’ is as huge as anything he's ever made. It’s very similar in spirit to the live mix he recorded for Mac’s Melbourne Deepcast. Like that mesmerising set, this is music befitting the vast, open spaces of the track’s imagined destination, one that’s bound to soundtrack outdoor festivals like Inner Varnika and Hopkins Creek in the not too distant future. Until those days return though, McCoy makes it very easy to just enjoy the journey.
