Rameses B has always been such an influential person to my music and on more than one occasion has truly inspired me.
He's been a major help to my insomnia and has really helped me be able to relax and learn a new way of thinking, that being said, I feel like this was the perfect song to write for.

About a year back I got a signed physical copy of Rameses album "Reborn" and he wrote in it a little message for me and my girlfriend, those few words were honestly felt so sincere, Thankyou to him personally for that. <3

I actually bought all of ODESZA's album on a whim that I liked three remixes of this song, having never heard the original, turns out I fell in love with their music and that album, So I guess this kinda feels fitting now :)

Well, I figured I'll never get to a point where I'm perfectly happy with it, just because I'll never feel like I'm able to do it justice.

That being said, I'm happy enough with how this turned out, just my first attempt at finally doing a cover of another song I've loved for years of my life. I think I actually got away quite well with taking a chillout and Future Bass-esc approach to this, so yeah, enjoy :).

I feel the Paragon chapters are finally coming to an end, I still want to write all of the synthpop infused things that I've spent so long trying to curate as a style, but Paragon was a building block for me, even from the start. So I'm proud to say I will be moving to a new alias soon. Don't worry, I'll still end up putting all of my vocal and strange stuff out here, but probably not for a while. Thankyou for your time <3 


Before We.

It's ironic that I'm posting this rather early in the night, here it's only 2AM, I think it's cause I finally got the courage up to write instead of dealing with my usual 5AM nonsense that just doesn't make sense, so I thought writing this a bit earlier will help it make sense, thankyou in advance for your time <3

Bit of emotional distress that I wish I could actually express properly. It came quite clear to me today, after being in a new environment where I've chose to actually publicly talk about it, how my insomnia effects me so much. Talking to people about it definitely has helped me so much compared to how I used to just wander into a place full of people and just simmer there as if I had all the energy in the world. But the thing that was most clear is that I can't fight it. My friend said, after having spoke to me and heard every methodology I've tried to cope with it, "you sound like you're better off just letting it settle with you, you said you feel better that way".

I'm feeling distressed about my insomnia because I used to adore the extra hours I had on everyone, the "sleeping issues" everyone became knowledgeable about me having weren't really issues and therefore they wouldn't bother me. I knew how to cope. But these recent weeks in university have really strained me to a point where it's begun affecting me emotionally. 

So, thanks to small part of inspiration from my buddy Monty, I've decided to adapt his idea of diary forms of music. When my insomnia hits harder than usual, for the nights when I can't cope with staring at the ceiling with music on, write something different. Don't finish a "Track". Finish a piece.

If there's one thing I'm thankful for, it's knowing that I can play music to so many positive thoughts that in a few hours of time I can run back to, and the small world in which I feel at home, with my friends and girl, will just take me.

I used to love being an insomniac, it gave me ideas and imagination possibilities that felt endless. But there becomes a point where you have to stop and realise that without an actual hint of relaxation, the world can and will surely fall apart. I hope to learn to be safe with it, and hopefully find a way to really be okay with it. <3

Hard To Explain

So, I just want to quickly say, I am so unbelievably humbled and overwhelmed by the response my first improvisation got, I just can't quite fathom that the result of my tortured endless nights pressuring on me could quite turn into something so incredible. 
I've never been happier to be imperfect in my life.
Thankyou from the bottom of my heart. <3

Anyway, another chapter in the "I Can't Sleep" diary that I've had for the past few years of my life, this one has a little more context.

So yet again, I'm just enduring an endless night however this time I've managed to finally start piecing together the spaces again, little bits and pieces to keep me going, I started to get these urges to just do something different. I went for a walk, just as half 6 is coming on, winter over here is brutal because it's just nighttime forever so I just thought it'd be worth while to take in the air that I missed so much. 

Hopefully there's some form of escape in this, this is me in a way documenting my escape to the outside world, in which there were no people, only passing cars, water, cold air, and the odd silhouette's riding or running by.
