A new label is born from France called Seclusion by owners Damien Lapéna and Anouar Hemissi who also appear on the first release as the remix artist 13130 Space Project alongside DTFA founder Mark Flash who has released on the legendary UR - Underground Resistance and EPM Music amongst others.

The two original works are supplied by Detroit-based pairing HLX-1 also known as Mr. Hooper and The AM. Kenny Clements is known for his live sets with Scan 7 and releases on Kevin Saunderson’s KMS, while Ann-Marie Teasley is a classical violinist and radio guest with NTS and Rinse, now they are both in Detroit and regularly collaborating under the new guise.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the second track “Curious City” that has a rolling feel and a timeless vibe. Using a stripped back style and electro-influenced, breathy sweeps that add the finishing touches to its straight rhythm, the break adds a looming mystery to this functional juggernaut that every DJ needs.

Recently launched French label, Seclusion is back for its second outing. The inaugural release by Detroit’s HLX-1 garnered impressive support from DJs and the media including Bandcamp’s Best Electronic Music in May, and plays in Titonton Duvante’s XLR8R podcast, Dave Clarke’s White Noise, James Ruskin’s EPM podcast, Ben Sims’ Run It Red show, Rolando’s Better Days mix and Tom Ravenscroft’s BBC 6 Music show.

But one of the ‘Come To Me’ EP’s standouts was in fact the remix by 13130 Space Project, which is the DJ and production moniker of Seclusion founders, Damien Lapéna and Anouar Hemissi. Now they return with an EP of their own, entitled ‘International Problem’.

‘International Problem’ features two originals – the title track and ‘Kismet’ which enforce their love of deep tech with interstellar leanings and a nod to Detroitesque techno. Forming a further bond with the Motor City, they enlist Blaktony who has been a member within various groups and collectives, including Optic Nerve, early Aux 88, Aux Men, Alien FM and Scan7, to deliver a remix that bridges the gap between Techno Bass and Electro.

'Gamma' brings forward their old-school inspirations expressed in loopy cuts combined with evolving arrangements and the pair's well-known raw energy. Paralelo is the new platform that will host a limited amount of releases conceived under similar circumstances.

Twenty new tracks produced during the lockdown at his new studio in the mountains outside Barcelona. A parallel world-like period that seemed unrealistic and during which he remained connected to his deeper emotions through music, this new material will be spread within 10 limited releases.
