DSS 105 comes from the mind of enigmatic producer, DJ and liveact Aa Sudd.

Based in Germany, he primarily explores the psychotropic and hypnotic realms of sound. Delving into irregular rhythms, immersive atmospheres and kaleidoscopic patterns. With a focus on the captivating and the otherworldly, Aa Sudd delivers enveloping sets and productions, fusing elements of techno and experimental drum and bass to create a psychedelic listening experience, spreading his sound via labels such as Midgar or Mirror Zone.

For our twenty-fourth installment we've invited Orca Silent, he is an experimental electronic artist from Coast Salish Territory, blending nature’s raw energy with deep, hypnotic techno and ambient soundscapes. Drawing inspiration from the rugged landscapes off Vancouver Island, their music merges field recordings with generative sound, creating a sonic journey that resonates with depth.

Live performances are a dynamic journey of evolving drones, jungle polyrhythms and complex textures, shaped by granular synthesis and spatial audio techniques. These elements come together to transport audiences into immersive, three-dimensional environments, where sound and space interact in real-time.

Recent releases on Oslated, Secuencia Temporales and forthcoming on Huinali Recordings have gained recognition from the deep end community, with original production sets released on platforms Delayed, Deepbreakfast, and Codecast. Witness the rolling energy of bush tested, Pacific Atmospherics, celebrated coast to coast from Future Forest, through Wonderment, Cascadia NW and beyond.

"Submerge is a rural techno gathering, centred around organic and left-field producers providing dynamic live performances. Evening originated in dreamy, subtle environments evolving into peaktime passages with a heavy emphasis on cold electronica. Closed out the night with this immersive project, modulated over twelve channels and shared on the traditional lands of the T’Sou-ke First Nation in Sooke BC."

Monochrome presents, 𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖊𝖒𝖕𝖘 𝓥 : Marie Pravda, Ankali.

This spring, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
When Marie Pravda settles into a DJ booth she’s there to spark some chemistry with those willing to embrace it. While she is perfectly capable
of generating similar energy in her recordings for the online world, it’s the endless push & pull with the physical crowd that charges her selection and mixing. Developing into an avid digger during long shifts in gloomy basements and online, the Prague-based DJ and DIY promoter took the Czech scene by storm with her savage take on a growing range of club music – be it with selections from her trippy or dance folders.
In 2020 she joined the resident collective of Ankali & Planeta Za where she runs her regular Planeta Pravda club series. Marie has contributed episodes to numerous online radios and mix series for club or non-club outlets. She recorded mixes for Knekelhuis, hereandthere, Galactic Funk, and appeared on online broadcasts of NTS, Hör, Mutant, Kiosk, Operator and many more.
In 2021-2023 she was a member of the artist roster of Gravity Network, an international initiative for club cultureexchange in Europe and beyond.

For the 38th edition of the SKIN podcast, we welcome Paris-based DJ Clara Samson. She moves between two artistic worlds: DJing and working for several art galleries. Her passions for art and music converge, as she appreciates visuals in the same way she loves sound, minimalist and organic. The atmospheres of her sets are an ode to nature: sometimes calm, sometimes powerful.

Over the past fifteen years, she has shaped a style of hypnotic, atmospheric techno, ranging from ambient to deep, percussive soundscapes. Her sets, inspired by nature, art, and her favorite labels, unfold like stories, beginning with guiding words she writes down beforehand to structure them around specific themes. “These can be simple words like: slow, spiritual, forest, introspection. These cues help me build a coherent and immersive narrative.”

A highlight of her journey came last summer, when she won the Astropolis competition and closed a festival stage at sunrise. “It remains one of my most beautiful experiences as a DJ.”

For this podcast, Clara wanted to step off the beaten path by building a somewhat unconventional set around 85 BPM, featuring unique rhythms and more experimental sounds, while maintaining the hypnotic touch that defines her style.
