A 4-hour drift through layered atmospheres and leftfield experimentation, this extended opening set by Pianeti Sintetici marked the beginning of DE RIO’s 6th anniversary celebration, a 14-hour open-air gathering held in a hidden location among the hills of Florence. Known for his deeply textured sonic explorations and immersive works, Pianeti Sintetici invited early listeners into a slow-burning journey. Moving from fragile drones and spatial electronics to abstract rhythms and weightless transitions, the set established a space of introspection, friction, and quiet intensity.

Fresh from her stunning debut album Percussive Reverie (Annulled Music) and ahead of her forthcoming Nefanda on Samurai Music this July, Aerae speaks in refracted rhythms: sinewy drums, cavernous reverbs, melodies coded in Latin fragments. Dance music as incantation—dense yet breathing, suspended between rave energy and meditative drift.

In the booth, she ventures further—fusing UK-leaning sounds with trippy twists and textural experimentation. A flow that pulls body & mind into the same gravitational field.

Over the past five years, the Germany-based duo has cultivated a unique sonic signature, fusing traditional percussion and esoteric instruments with cutting-edge electronic elements to create music that is both untamed and deeply spiritual.

Their genre-defying approach seamlessly merges tribal, electronic, ambient, and abstract techno, crafting immersive experiences that feel like shamanic voyages through deep sonic landscapes. The next instalment in our series comes from ANNX, recorded at Corsica Studios during the @snoozeafters night in collaboration with @crescent-london. It drifts through ambient soundscapes, nature-tinged downtempo, dubbed-out grooves, and irresistibly slow, squelchy basslines.

Inspired by cities and dancefloors where she's lived and explored, ANNX’s unique seductive sound echos within her psychedelic selections across trance, prog, psy, techno, tech house, bass and more. 

Her distinct sound has gained her global visibility appearing on club and festival line-ups in the UK, France and Mexico including Gloria at Macadam, SinXcensura in Mexico and she is a resident DJ at Above Below Festival. 

Anna’s commitment to the scene goes beyond the booth, she carefully identifies niche sounds that are missing in the UK and has become a staple for psychedelic music on London's club circuit. In 2021, she founded Whomp, a non-profit party in London which she now co-runs with Lora Mipsum. In 2023, she started a brand-new project perspectives• with lighting designer Nicole Gordon. Most recently, she joined the Above Below music team. 

All is in flux. Nothing remains still.
