"Dans un futur post-apocalyptique, l’humanité est menacée par des créatures appelées Anges. Pour les combattre, l’organisation NERV fait piloter de gigantesques robots biologiques, les EVA, par des adolescents, dont Shinji Ikari, fils du directeur.
Derrière les combats se cachent des enjeux plus profonds : manipulation, complot, quête d’identité, solitude, peur du rejet et recherche de lien humain.
L’histoire culmine dans une fin symbolique et introspective, centrée sur la psychologie des personnages plutôt que sur l’action."

In a post-apocalyptic future, humanity is threatened by creatures called Angels. To combat them, the organization NERV recruits teenagers, including Shinji Ikari, the director's son, to pilot gigantic biological robots called EVAs.
Behind these battles lie deeper issues: manipulation, conspiracy, the search for identity, loneliness, fear of rejection, and the quest for human connection.
The story culminates in a symbolic and introspective ending, focused on the characters' psychology rather than on the action.
