Sol Selectas is proud to present  “Sacred - The Yoruba Soul Mixes”, a remix single featuring two interpretations of Ayala (IT)’s song “Sacred Piano”, created by Osunlade, a well respected music producer and DJ for over 30 years.

The Yoruba Soul Mix slowly builds with raw guitar, off kilter organic percussions, beautiful keys, and a deep bass line. The saxophones weave in and out backed by soothing flutes, and then, when the pianos from the Sacred original appear, we have the ultimate musical climax.
The Yoruba Cleanse mix strips back the pads and key crescendos, gradually filtering in the piano licks, and leaving us with 6 and half minutes of pure Afro groove.  

Osunlade is a verified legend in the deep soulful house community, and was one of the pioneers of what is now labeled as “organic house”. His music has been released on countless respected labels, including many classics on his own label - Yoruba Records. His sound and artistic vision continues to inspire Sol Selectas, and we are simply honored to have him featured here with these 2 expertly done remixes. 

Helia Jamali’s cover art “remixes” her own original work, perfectly matching the tribal vibe and quality of this special release.

Lemurian’s record label Cosmic Awakenings drops a flamenco influenced downtempo/organic house release featuring stunning tracks by @etna_music.

@etna_music is an Italian artist based in Ibiza and he is making his debut on Cosmic Awakenings following music on other record labels such as Speedsound Music, Hupupa, Crew Love Records and Blackpoint Records.

He is a talented multi-instrumentalist whose organic tracks fuse live instruments with sequenced beats and immersive synth lines.

Although a new artist within the electronic music scene, @etna_music is an accomplished music producer with a background working for Universal Music and Sony Music. His achievements also include writing music for massive brands ranging from Yves Saint Laurent to Nike.

All three of the tracks on this release showcase his skills as a musician, as “Universo” opens the release with fluttering guitars and soothing Spanish vocals layered with sweeping synths. “Samsara” has an upbeat vibe with Latin rhythms and shuffling percussion that brings the heat to the dance floor. “Cielo Maya” is a laid-back and trippy track with sun-drenched guitar licks, sensual vocal and chunky percussion sequenced into a downtempo groove.

“Venti Del Karma” is a bonus track only available via Soundcloud/Hypeddit link and it orientates around emotive vocals, a playful accordion and psychedelic guitar licks underpinned by flowing percussion.

With roots planted very much in the early jazz and soul influences of his formative years, A Man With No Past Originating The Future is the latest album from Osunlade, one of the most creative and versatile producers and artists of his generation. 

Released earlier this year on vinyl (twice sold out following an initial repress) but now finally seeing a digital release, A Man With No Past Originating The Future has been a long time in the making. Recorded over the course of three years, the project originally started out as an “ambient experiment” but changed direction over the album’s incubation. “The initial influence of the album was my love for ambient music” says Osunlade of the project “putting textures together that were ambient based. But of course soul and jazz came into play during the making of it. The premise of it was just to make something that was a bit more ethereal and ambient in sound, but it took another turn as I started working on it.”

As a complete album, it’s difficult to sum up its ambience; as overt as some of its influences at times are, it’s also a completely unique listening experience, each track contained therein bearing Osunlade’s unmistakable mark. His voice – as ever – has a strong role to play, whether breathily harmonious (‘Quiet Departures’) or subtly, mechanically manipulated (‘Human Beings’) it is as distinctive as ever, and lends a cohesive  quality to the whole.

A Man With… is the next evolutionary step in the musical career of a true original and further proof – if any was needed – of Osunlade’s seemingly endless creative talent.
