Over the past couple of years veteran Eskimo Recordings DJ/producer George Bakalakos AKA NTEIBINT has split his focus between releasing sumptuous vocal disco and more experimental club tracks, and it’s the latter strand the Athenian returns to with his latest single 'True', which arrives complete with remixes from Boombass and Paresse. For the second remix of NTEIBINT's new single, 'True', Eskimo Recordings have turned to Swedish producer Paresse who has delivered a track that cleaves close to the original but dials ups the atmospherics, eschewing the original’s thundering bass, allowing the chopped up 2-step drums to sail through clouds of vaporous synths

The latest single from Swedish producer Ivan Berggren, known as Paresse, gets a remix treatment from fellow Swede DJ Carli (Off The Meds/Studio Barnhus). ’Great River People’ is one of three tracks from the upcoming ’Digital Skymning EP’ which is out on April 12th, 2024. Released on the new label Paresse Music.

C.A.R also known as Chloé Raunet formerly of Battant follows up the release of her album, ‘My Friend’, with single Glock’d. 

We've got the great honour of premiering the The Asphodells aka Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J. Fairplays remix of the track. GLOCK’D is C.A.R’s trademark washed out sarcasm and bleached cynicism. The track forages paths through Chloe’s dark mind. It was one of the first songs she wrote on her own, and was recorded down in the bunker with Timothy J Fairplay himself. The remix from Andrew and Tim voyages through ethereal atmospheric electronics and edges into glam-stomp territory.

Elsewhere Les Disques De La Mort protégé and R$N favourite Manfredas reworks album track Angelina plus there's also a fresh new track ‘Silk’. A Rhodes rendition recorded live in Paris "on a cold winter’s day."

Perched on a crossroads, Pin Up Club approaches electronic music with a magpie’s nature. A spread of styles has been picked, plucked and plundered to make ‘Friends Of The Vortex’. The title piece snaps with clean beats as Blade Runner bars build with an energy that can only be described as palpable. Latin percussion and samples get the groove going for ‘Children Of The Void’. Flirting, the tone twirls and turns. Keys are big and full bodied, balanced perfectly by the crack of a snare. ‘Out Of The Unknown’ closes. A slow burning piece brimming with brooding cinematic shapes and strings, a work that shows the colder edge of this dutch duo. Quality through and through.

Bordello A Parigi is a label synonymous with quality. So too are Dutch duo extraordinaire, Pin Up Club.  When they asked us about premiere one of the tracks from ‘Friends of the Vortex’ EP release, we of course paid more than a little bit of attention. We’ve managed to get hold of one of the tracks Out Of The Unknown. And we sure you’ll love it.

The dive bar and venue turned vinyl record store & label recently announced its second release in the form of a digi-single by Parisian Art-Noir experimentalists "Hey Mother Death", with their third release taking the form of a dance floor oriented 12” of specially curated remixes for Record Store Day 2017. This limited pressing includes remixes by fourprogressive new dance artists prominent in Edinburgh & Glasgow. A1: Glasgow’s Mr TC and a LYO fave opens the show and contributes a dark, chugging, psychotropic interpretation sure to please fans of his highly regarded EPs for Optimo Music.

Originally released on Eskimo Recordings' 'Yellow Collection', Middle Sky Boom & Eliezer's 'Slow With The Run' has long been a secret weapon for those DJs that like to take a break from the 120bpm bangers and give the dancefloor a bit of space to breathe and get freaky. Now those who have kept the faith are rewarded as Eskimo have dipped into their back catalogue, dug out the parts and invited Swedish producer Paresse and Parisians Il Est Vilaine to rework the track in their own special ways. 

Having impressed with his 'Sloth Machine' EP Stockholm based Paresse is first up to the plate. Keeping the basic structure in tact, Paresse opts to gild the original rather than embark on any wholesale changes. Building his remix around a mesmerising synth loop that he develops and builds upon across 6 minutes, Paresse delivers one of those numbers that locks you into its hypnotic groove and then before you know it your hands are in the air and you're bellowing 'TUNE' at the person sweating away next to you. 

Il Est Vilaine meanwhile rewind Belgian history to a moment long before Eskimo had been born and the lowlands reverberated to the martial beat of EBM and New Beat. Nudging down the tempo, Il Est Villaine pair the original's Arabesque guitar riff with the kind of heavily gated drums and synth arpeggios that would have set the strobes off at Boccaccio in the 80s.

Kimchii is the artist name of the Stockholm-based producer, DJ and performer Kim Söderlund. Influenced by artists such as CHIC, Empire Of The Sun, Cut Copy, Arthur Russel, Cassius and Toro y Moi, Kimchii moves freely in diverse musical dimensions. Uniting the sounds of disco, house and electro in dreamy ways - always with a deep, energetic and futuristic feel - Kimchii is generating a unique sound that keeps evolving.

The year of 2019 was a landmark for Kimchii as he collaborated with the DJ duo Rebecca & Fiona, producing the track ”One More Night (Kimchii Remix)”.
