After 2 widely acclaimed EP’s on Mulero’s Pole imprint, they now land on Token, with the ‘Vector Projection EP’, a new impressive 4-tracker.

Mulero & Wünsch join software and hardware to create a stellar EP that explores the deeper side of techno, on ‘SCFLS-05’ & ‘SCFLS-11’, but also hits back hard on the rolling ‘SCFLS-12’ & brutal ‘SCFLS-17’.

Perc Trax’s Welsh born, London based acid wizard Truss returns after the success of his recent releases on Sigha’s Our Circula Sound imprint and his remix (in collaboration with Sigha) of Perc’s own ‘You Saw Me’. 

‘Ganymede is Truss’ first Perc Trax outing since ‘Osbasten’ back in summer 2010 and from the outset demonstrates how far his sound has progressed. Fusing the attitude of classic early R&S with modern techno, he layers razor sharp hoover stabs over a heavily swung, bass-laden groove.

Remixes come from fast-rising Semantica/Horizontal Ground producer Skirt and label boss Perc. The former deepens the track, adding more atmospherics over the original’s broken beat kick, whilst Perc sharpens up the hoover stabs even more and adds layer upon layer of his trademark crushing metallic percussion.

Rounding off the EP is ‘Hackney’, a 4/4 jackin’ acid stomper, with a sound that is at the forefront of the current UK renaissance in stripped down, in-yer-face techno.

Perc Trax is proud to unveil the debut EP by Pinion, known in a former life as US-based producer Bobby Dowell. Pinion is the sound of a man with his own vision of music, sitting somewhere between classic industrial and contemporary techno without slavishly bowing down to either discipline.  Where the likes of Ancient Methods and Perc are the sound of metal on metal, Pinion is more like wood on leather, a ceremonial throb that switches in an instant from tightly locked grooves to more freeform rhythmic patterns. 

Equally at home serving up percussive workouts as he is crafting dense, atmospheric soundscapes the release of Pinion from his underground lair is a major coup for Perc Trax. 

Bolstering the percussive attack is the enfant terrible of the Parisian techno scene Mondkopf, a man who is been on Perc’s radar for a few years now. Mondkopf’s two remixes of Grid, float ethereal pads over a slowed down, metallised version of Pinion’s original groove to provide the perfect accompaniments to the lead mix’s ritualistic beating.

It is Monday the 16th of July and today we have Kr!z, the head of the acclaimed Belgian label 'Token' for the first time on the CLR Podcast. For this purpose he has recorded an exclusive 2,5 hours mix, consisting of a variety of brand-new or previously unreleased tracks and a few classics. Kr!z always had a strong sympathy for the more gloomy, dark, rawer sound of techno.
Artists like Jeff Mills, Surgeon & James Ruskin had a major influence on him in the 90ies. They helped to define his musical taste and to develop his own identity in the techno scene. Kr!z still has a big love for hip hop, which has left it’s mark in his technical dj style: fast & tight mixing, properly dosed with cuts & scratches. Being a respected & established value in Belgium for a decade and a resident-dj for Belgium's legendary techno night 'Kozzmozz', his dj-schedule now takes him all over the world. His label nights have become very successful events in some of the most influential techno clubs of the planet and he has released many of the most inspiring artists in today´s electronic music scene on 'Token'. The upcoming releases also promise nothing but more of the imprint´s widely respected, powerful, timeless and uncompromising techno.

Parisian techno enfant terrible Mondkopf makes a rare excursion away from his fast rising ‘In Paradisium’ imprint to deliver an EP for Perc Trax, a label that clearly shares Mondkopf’s love for the experimental, the industrial and the distorted.

Across these three tracks the French producer applies an overdriven, fuzz-heavy aesthetic to symphonic broken beat techno. Think Ancient Methods or Perc at their most uncompromising but then expanded in every direction; heavier bass, sharper highs and an orchestral edge that is epic without ever coming across as contrived.

Both ‘No Icons’ and ‘Ruins’ lurch out of the blocks with the trademark jagged Mondkopf rhythms before finishing on horn and choral outros. The former of which has a touch of the pagan, medieval sound last heard across Perc’s own ‘Wicker & Steel’.

Closing off the EP is ’33 000 Bells’ a more experimental piece based around echoing synth hits and reverberating top lines creating a piece that perfect highlights Mondkopf’s ability to seduce with melody as well as brutalise with rhythm.

Krake is a week long festival of experimental electronic music in Berlin that takes place between 5th - 10th August 2013 in a variety of venues that include Passionskirche chapel, Berghain Kantine and Suicide Circus. The festival is curated by Killekill Records and 2013 marks the fourth edition of the festival.

In 2012 Krake Festival showcased an impecable lineup of pioneering electronic musicians that included Murcof, Perc, Lucy, Dadub, Ulrich Schnauss, Pole, Alex Smoke, Tim Exile, Ceephax Acid Crew and Lakker. 2013 highlights include Cristian Vogel, Monolake, Untold, Dopplereffekt and Nathan Fake perform at Krake.

Inverted Audio have partnered with Krake to present a series of live sets that were recorded last year at Krake Festival. Perc aka Alistair Wells, DJ, producer and label owner of Perc Trax begins the series with an extremely rare live ambient set. He performed this at Berghain Kantine after Dadub's performance. The recording contains new tracks and remixes of older tracks by Perc. "Some tracks were purely elements in my laptop and others were a mixture of laptop audio and live improvised electronics."

In the interview we discuss Perc's involvement and experience of Krake Festival and how his own record label Perc Trax is progressing.
