Postpunk / Deathpop  from sweden !

In the restroom of a club somewhere in one of Sweden’s industrial areas, anno 2011, stood a few pretentious underground deviants with ridiculously stylish clothes and ambitions to the hilt and went on about how miserable the music scene in town was. 

The DJ started playing some old postpunk hit and after a toast, it was decided that a new band had been formed. A band that would play just like that music, but even more drenched in reverb and chorus as a backlash to all the straight edge and hard rock that dominated at the local clubs.

 The band took their name from a documentary about New York’s drag queen scene in the 80s, then tried their wings by performing synth tunes on a karaoke bar for head bangers, became hated on and terrified but learned to love it. At least for the moment. After a few terrible years together Paris is still rants about the cold war, ominous corporations, strained relations and chemical decadence. Call it new wave, post punk, cold wave or death pop but be sure to tune in. It’s more exciting when no one knows how it will end.
