This is Kirsti Meiers follow up album after her debut album Not Without A Song from 2018. Meiers new album SEVEN STORIES takes a further step into the singer-songwriter style and presents an album packed with musical storytelling – greetings from Animal from the Muppet Show, a Grizzly mom in the maternity ward, Carl Jung and a Puppy Freak with stupid, long eyes. Meiers turns with this new record further towards the light; insisting on belonging. Seven Songs is made in co-production with Peter Bohlin hand in hand with guest musicians such as Andreas Baw on drums, Sofi Hellborg on sax, Björn Edqvist on trumpet and Peter Bohlin bass, guitar and percussion. Meiers carries the songs without problems herself on stage, although the album presents a full band of loaned super musicians. However, the question stays with us as a dear reminder of the meaning and transience of life; Where and at who’s door will the songs knock upon? What is the meaning of writing and sharing music? Where are the future band members and how do we keep hope alive?
