When we thought of turning this space into an access point for our audience to become acquainted with the immense contingent of fresh names doing fantastic things at the moment, it stemmed from the feeling of deeply missing one of the most cherished elements of our physical events: the future-nurture rooms where the public could get to know them face to face and enjoy their creations. That environment was special to us because there we could provide the kind of care all talent needs in order to blossom, an opportunity to showcase the tomorrow of our scene. However, since our physical manifestations are impossible at the moment, we decided to bring this dear endeavour of ours into the online realm and make an open call for mixes. And of course we expected it to garner some attention, but the response surpassed our wildest expectations, giving us not only a rewarding idea of how much we are trusted, but especially a good glimpse of what a fantastic new generation of selectors is out there, ready to be discovered by the public. Kickstarting these special series, we are happy to present a wonderful selector whose musical offering took us on such an enthralling ride that we felt compelled to share so you can all enjoy it:  Apartamento 21 resident and Bongosynth affiliate Mary Roman.

Opening Class - Yoga Conference Germany 2018

The Opening event of the Yoga Conference is always very special and clearly a class of celebration to welcome all the students, teachers and to kick of into the fantastic weekend. Therefor its generally quite uplifting and since it normally an approx. 60min class, moves pretty quickly into warriors and standing positions, leading up to a peak point at around 45min, before going back to the ground with more subtle, beatless sounds and finishing of with savasana. The music is designed to serve this structure. 

Special notice: This music in these opening ceremonies tends to build up quicker as the class is shorter but also the time on the floor at the end is a little longer then usual.

This class is designed with approx. 75min, including savasana. Leaving enough time for talks, breaks for demonstrations, silence for guided meditation etc. It can also used for a 60min class as its calms down at around 45min already, no more beats after 52min.

Music is a language. This new label is a hypothetical sound trip between skyscrapers, wild places, deep imaginary oceans in our mistreated, but fascinating globe. No specific musical genre, but a sort of global beat, winking especially at the Balearic sounds. You can call them edits or re-publications, but our belief is that you can make tracks that are extremely expensive, in their original version or that have never been printed on vinyl. Imaginária wants to respect the publishers, authors, producers and musicians of the published songs, but fundamentally you who promote our idea.

Bside Incoming: Kinn

This time Bside is broadcasting from San Antonio, Texas. We are transporting you across the Atlantic to hear a record collection of almost 30 years in the making. He’s a man known by many names Sprout, Soco, Rick Lara and Kinn. Whatever he chooses to call himself, it’s a pleasure to be welcomed into his world of musical passion and listen to some of his favourite records.

He has a strong influence in his local scene: Throwing events while he was in the Air Force with the like minded music loving artists of his youth, and continuing with a series of parties across Texas and Oklahoma which culminated in the organisation of a two day festival called Togetherness.

Rick is keen to get back to playing live, but in the meantime his passion for music lives on through his Sprout Sessions, as well as his A&R role with record label Calls and Puts, a chance to connect with other producers and pursue his own EP under his Soco moniker. 

We were glad to hear that DJ Kinn is also spending his time reaching out to the youth of today as part of the AM Project. With after school and summer programmes that encourage DJing and production and will surely cultivate his own passion for music withiin generations to come. 

This one moves between the deep and dubby, moody lounge vibes, hypnotising hip-hop beats and progressive melodic jazz-house. From Thievery Corporation to Henry Wu and everything in between.
