Mike Steyn and Karl Huizinga, collectively known as ARDENT, have honed their musical talents
over the years, growing up in a techno and house music infused KwaZulu-Natal environment.
Drawing inspiration from notable artists such as Black Coffee, Carl Cox, Sébastien Léger,
Amelie Lens, Kaiser, Yan Cook, and many others, they have crafted a diverse range of music
that encompasses the pulsating rhythms of Afro house, the driving beats of Industrial techno,
and the melodic electronic synths that electrifies audiences. Their music never fails to amplify
the vibe, creating a new and unique flavor that is unmistakably their own.
ARDENT's sound is the perfect fusion of passion and enthusiasm, brought to life by the
harmonious collaboration of two distinct styles. Renowned in their local town of Stellenbosch,
Mike and Karl are not only musical partners but also close friends, driven by a shared love of
music and a desire to create something truly special.
Their accomplishments speak for themselves. At the end of 2022 ARDENT was one of the
opening acts for Grammy nominee - Zakes Bantwini at one of the biggest New Year parties in
the country. They were previously signed by Withyou booking agency but later decided to
diverge and manage their career independently. They have held a residency at Fools Gold and
have performed at some of the biggest events and festivals in Cape Town, as well as other
events across the country in, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, and the Western Cape. ARDENT's
music has captivated audiences and continues to take the South African music scene by storm.
