For the past decade, the Amsterdam based Miss Melera has been absorbing the essence behind traditional genres such as deep, tech house and techno and twisting them into a melodic confection that is both fresh, timeless and completely her own.

In the past years she has played high profile dates in Europe, Asia, South and North America. In 2012 she has started her monthly radio show and event called ‘COLOURIZON’. Her show is broadcast on several radio stations worldwide and increasingly popular on her Soundcloud profile.

As COLOURIZON developed quickly into a global phenomenon, Miss Melera was invited to play for her fans all over the world. The success of the radio broadcast turned into a successful touring career, with invites to perform in venues like D-Edge (São Paulo, Brazil), Warung (Itajaí, Brazil), Fusion Festival (Lärz, Germany), Nest (Toronto, Canada), Womb (Tokyo, Japan), The Pickle Factory (London, UK), Le Bikini (Toulouse, France), Rote Fabrik (Zurich, Switzerland), Harry Klein (Munich, Germany), Niceto Club (Buenos Aires, Argentina), KaterBlau (Berlin, Germany), Baum (Bogota, Colombia) and of course her Dutch hometown Amsterdam where she is hosting a COLOURIZON residency at De Marktkantine.

Her fast-growing fanbase is embracing her latest release, ‘Nirvana’ on the English label Polymath which follows after a remix on Traum and her ‘Magenta’ EP on Chapter 24 Records including remixes by Dave Seaman and Jonas Saalbach.

With releases on Parquet Recordings, Einmusika Recordings, a collaboration with Eelke Kleijn, Olivier Weiter & Arjuna Schiks on the WEITER label, Chapter 24 Records, Traum, Polymath and her upcoming tour schedule, Miss Melera will give global audience a chance to discover her vision of electronic music.

Parquet Mixtape 35 by Oliver Winters

Oliver Winters is based in the UK and had his debut release with us end of February. After releases on Suara and Maustrap he brought us three melodic peak time tracks each on its way bombs for the dance floor. "Obscurity" impresses us with a moogy bass melody and a catchy arpeggio. The second "Chiron" is an energetic, trippy melodic techno track. And the third "Zenith" has a powerful bass which has an high recognition value and is a strong dance floor filler. His mixtape for our series is a great complementation to his release and packed with great melodic tracks. Thanks to Oliver for the awesome mixtape. 3 QUESTIONS to UNDERCATT:

Q: Talking about your mix. How did you select the music and what did the tracks mean to you once?

A: The selection itself has been challenging, as a lot of great and iconic tracks shaped our tastes in music back in the years. We tried to put together the very meaningful electronic music from different times that influenced us the most in shaping the Undercatt sound in our productions. So you can find trance-progressive influences in the building up and in the melodies as more electro and raw sounds for the rhythmic parts. Those sounds were huge in Italy when we were kids, and even if we still didn't know each other back then, we both remember the first time we met and discussed music and to connect through our music taste and what we loved. The tracks selected for the How I Met The Bass format reflect exactly that!

Q: We artists all have been forced to stay home from March on this year, so how did you spend your time and how did you reflect the past years?

A: We all are, as artists in general, in the most difficult times ever. Beside facing the same bad consequences that everyone is fighting, we all needed to enter in some kind of resistance state of mind. After many sacrifices to reach a professional level in our careers, our normal routine was looking like a dream, doing the job we always wanted to do. Producing music in the week, performing every weekend in different cities and countries. We have had so many great experiences, so going from that to a total stop in the first months has been quite shocking and difficult. But we also felt the need to keep going, and in some way, try to do even better in terms of music production. More time to experiment, more time to learn new things, so we just did what we love the most beside playing; we produced a lot of new music. We feel the light at the end of the tunnel is still far from now, but being resilient is the most honest thing we can do to ourselves and our fans. Dreaming of the very first party with no limitations at the end of this crazy pandemic, that would probably have a feeling like a true reborn!

Q: Which future UNDERCATT projects are on the way?

A: In a few words, a lot of new music. We are right now sticking the pieces together of all the stuff we produced in 2020, with the goal to make 2021 a very special year in terms of that. We can't disclose that much for now as the whole plan is still work in progress, but expect some great news, also in a kind of different and new format fort ust, starting from January 2021. For us, as Undercatt, but also for our brand new label Notturna.
