After a year-long hiatus from the label, Anjunabeats luminary Grum returns with the ‘Isolation EP’. 

Graeme Shepherd, better known as Grum, hails from Glasgow. His relationship with Anjunabeats stretches back to 2015, when Above & Beyond signed him to the label over a glass of whisky one night after a gig. A string of brilliant singles followed: ‘U’, ‘Shout’, ‘Shining’ and ‘Price Of Love’ to name a few, plus his Anjunabeats Worldwide 07 compilation, which charted on Billboard’s Dance / Electronic Album chart. 

His long-awaited artist album ‘Deep State’ - released in November 2019 - was a triumph, cementing his place at the forefront of progressive trance. 

Featuring four new cinematic, beatless compositions, the ‘Isolation EP’ sees Grum journey into new territory.

“Over the past year I've spent an awful lot of time by myself. Once I'd fully understood what was happening, I realised I would now have a lot of time on my hands. On recommendation from Jordi van Achthoven (one half of Tinlicker), I turned to music as a form of therapy and escapism. With no clubs open for the foreseeable future, I started discovering and rediscovering music and genres that I hadn't listened to before, or hadn't listened to in years. I ended up really enjoying ambient, classical and film soundtrack music from the likes of Max Richter, Trent Reznor, Japan and M83. The result is the ‘Isolation EP’. As well as providing a bit of escapism for myself, I hope it will help transport you somewhere else for a small part of your day.” - Grum

Anjunadeep presents the third instalment of the ‘Reflections’ compilation series. Following the success of the first two volumes, which have won high praise from the likes of SiriusXM, BBC Radio 1 and Mixmag, ‘Reflections Vol. 3’  is a collection of ambient and downtempo electronica from label favourites Jody Wisternoff, Martin Roth and CRi and contributions from Öona Dahl, PBSR, Stillhead and rising stars Olan, Nourey, Nikola Melnikov and Vár Sofandi.

The compilation's first single comes courtesy of Anjunadeep stalwart Jody Wisternoff and label boss James Grant, who have created an exclusive chill mix of their modern catalogue classic, ‘Nightwhisper’. One of Anjunadeep’s biggest moments in recent years, the original is the title track lifted from Jody’s latest studio album, which reached #1 in the iTunes Dance charts, and has accumulated over 13 million streams to date.

Captivated by the atmospheric vibe and the calm of ambient music, as well as the state of absolute ecstasy that provokes the powerful beat of techno, this artist decided to explore the perfect balance between both.

Brian Zajak, aka Fejká began his musical career at the age of 17. Torn between the dreamy soft atmosphere of ambient music, and the hard punchy vibe of techno, Fejká couldn’t decide which direction his music production would take. “Day/night, dream/dance, slow/fast – music was always split into two worlds for me” he says. Thus, he decided to experiment with both, showing the development process of dream music into dance music.

Drawn to artists such as Christian Löffler, HVOB and Kiasmos, the appeal of his style lies in its varied influences, and ability to harness the best of two contrasting genres. In the end, it was Christian Löffler himself who approached him, leading to his Debut EP "Twilight" which was released 2017 on Löfflers Label Ki Records. His highly anticipated Debut Album "Reunion" will be released in Fall 2019. With only 23 years, Fejká has already set an interesting start and is definitely an artist worth to watch out for.

When I wrote "Apart" early this year I didn't anticipate that there's only one interpretation in 2020... during lockdown music has kept me busy and I worked on various ideas across my favourite electronic genres.

Making his Anjunadeep debut back in 2017, Stockholm-based producer Hosini now returns to the label with his ‘8 Hours, Still No Rain EP', the title track of which was first featured on the label's flagship compilation ‘Anjunadeep 11’.

A collaboration with fellow Swede Jones Meadows, ‘8 Hours, Still No Rain’ pulls from elements of ambient and melodic electronica. ‘Kunzite’ features cascading textures whilst percussive-led ‘Potion’ demonstrates why Hosini has been championed by the likes of Lee Burridge, Martin Roth, Darin Epsilon and Pete Tong.
