Italian pioneer Marco Lys remixes an international club hit by Cool Jack on DFTD, ‘Just Come’. Cool Jack, comprised of influential DJ and Black Moon Records owner Angelino Albanese, producer Gianni Visnadi and vocalist Tom Hooker, originally released ‘Just Come’ in 1992. The addictive track then received remixes from DJ Sneak, Ralphi Rosario, The Sharp Boys and is now updated for modern clubs by fellow Italian Marco Lys. Italian native Fabio Neural teams up with growing Columbian talent DJ Fronter on the Brr Baby Brr EP. Soon to be released on Hot Creations, the three-track release is a contemporary house affair that shows the natural chemistry between the two.

Leading with Brr Baby Brr, a driving kick is soon complemented by whistling hats, before a teasing synth build up gives way to a pummelling bass driven drop. Silver Star comes in next with a reverberating vocal sample that’s underlined by a subtly changing bassline and warm, building pads, before Downtown rounds off the EP with a harder techno tone as punchy lead kicks meld with choppy, non-apologetic keys.

Having produced music since 2010, it was last year that Fabio Neural really caught the ground running with releases on two of modern house music’s leading labels: Relief and Saved. This year has been followed up with Brr Baby Brr, his standout release of 2019 and his first release on Hot Creations. DJ Fronter is one of Columbia’s most prominent artists. Having previously performed for the Resistance party brand his DJ sets speak for themselves, whilst his knack for producing has seen him release on labels like Circus and Nervous.

Jamie Jones’s Hottrax returns with two more razor sharp club weapons, this time from Italian producer Lorenzo De Blanck.
De Blanck has brought fresh perspective to his house and techno tunes on the likes of Moon Harbour, Deeperfect and Flashmob. After winning the Italian Burns Residency competition in 2017 he hasn’t looked back, playing the likes of Resistance Ibiza, Movement Torino and Sankeys amongst other renowned clubs. All this has put him at the sharp end of the scene and now he builds on that momentum with another superb studio outing.

‘Everyday’ is first out of the blocks and brings something of a classic house vibe thanks to its roaming Chicago bassline. Ravey vocal yelps and subtle hints of garage swing all colour in this most effective yet characterful floor filler. ‘My Mind’ is another well produced affair, with skittish percussive hits gliding over a warped bassline that snakes way down low. Turbocharged synths and imperative vocal stabs all add to the pressure as the darkness grows and energy builds to an explosive peak that will rip the club apart.
