Slow Grind Fever: A sultry mutant twist, part burlesque shaker and part rallying call for the sexually oppressed. If you’ve got an itch then there’s no better tune to scratch it to.

Biography: Thee Manatees are an offbeat Welsh three piece characterised by their unique brand of Lynchian Noir. The idiosyncratic instrumentation, darkly mischievous lyrics and sparse sound is as much influenced by early Chess singles as it is by bleak murder ballads.

2015 saw the release of their debut EP, but for their new single the group wanted to find a certain 'something' to complete their recorded sound. A chance encounter led them to a reclusive Mid-Walian producer with a cache of vintage microphones. The sound of one particular 1920s RCA Ribbon mic seemed to hold that something special.

When the producer explained it was the very same microphone that Aleister Crowley had used to record his rare spoken word pieces, Thee Manatees knew they had found their sound. Given this, it seemed natural to release their double A side single on ‘Satanic Black’ vinyl.

Gyda hanner y band yn bwy yng Nghaerdydd a'r hanner arall yn byw yn Aberystwyth, mae Parrog yn dod at eu gilydd unwaith y flwyddyn yng ngorllewin Cymru i sgwennu a recordio. Mae hyn yn golygu bod y gerddoriaeth wedi cael ei chrefftio yn ofalus iawn ac yn creu naws unigol...ond bydd yn cymeryd cryn dipyn o amser iddyn nhw orffen albwm.

Half in Cardiff, half in Aberystwyth, Parrog come together once a year by the sea in West Wales to write and record their music. This makes for well crafted, beautifully considered sounds with a unique atmosphere...but it will take them a while to make an album.
