Bride's Pool (Chinese: 新娘潭) is a stream pool with several waterfalls in northeastern New Territories, Hong Kong near Tai Mei Tuk. Mirror Pool is also located nearby.

Legend and namesake :
Legend has it that a bride was being carried in a sedan by four porters on her way to meet her groom in stormy weather. As they passed the pool, one of the porters slipped and the bride fell into the pool and drowned. Therefore the pool was named Bride's Pool in memory of the bride.

Tai Mei Tuk (officially known as 大美督 in Chinese; formerly and still commonly known as 大尾篤; also written as 大尾督 or 大美篤) is a place close to the Plover Cove Reservoir in the Tai Po District, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is a popular place for barbecues and cycling. There are villages and a harbour nearby where many restaurants can be found. Bicycles are also available for hire in the villages.

The Tai Mei Tuk Sea Activity Centre of the Scout Association of Hong Kong is located in the area and also provides sea Scouting activities in Hong Kong.

Tai Mei Tuk means "the very end" in the Cantonese language which depicts the landscape. The homonym character 篤 (tuk) is borrowed for the name. Recent Cantonese research suggested that the correct character is 䐁.

The Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha (富士山本宮浅間大社) is a Shintō shrine in the city of Fujinomiya in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is the ichinomiya of former Suruga Province, and is the head shrine of the 1300 Asama or Sengen shrines in the country. The shrine has an extensive location within downtown Fujinomiya; in addition, the entire top of Mount Fuji from the 8th stage upwards is considered to be part of the shrine grounds.

The main festival of the shrine is held annually on May 5, and features yabusame performances.

In 2013 the shrine was added to the World Heritage List as part of the Fujisan Cultural Site.

Hong Kong Chuk Lam Buddhist Temple (竹林禪院) in one of the biggest Temple in Hong Kong.

In a bucolic setting, the large Chuk Lam Sim (Bamboo Forest) Monastery was completed in 1932 when (legend has it) Tou Tei, the earth god, told an elderly monk to build it, and he carved it out of a hillside with six disciples. The second hall features three of the largest golden Buddhas in the territory. Locals come to worship the four-faced Brahma (Phra Phrom) statue from Thailand, going round in circles in prayer – clockwise or anti-clockwise depending on the request.

The monastery is northeast of Tsuen Wan MTR station. To reach it, take green minibus 85 from Shiu Wo St.

Hong Kong Chuk Lam Buddhist Temple (竹林禪院) : Historical Brass blow in  the Main Hall

The Kwun Yum Temple is the most famous among the great number of them in the territory. It was built in 1873.

In 1909, a road was constructed to connect Hung Hom with Tsim Sha Tsui and Kowloon City. When workers were digging in the hilly areas, red water spouted from the ground. It was rumoured that the vein of the dragon that inhabited in that area had been ruptured as a result of the work. The workers were frightened to continue with the road construction. Despite laboratory findings that the colour of the water was due to a mixture of underground deposits of sulphur and mercury, the workers were still worried and donated money to renovate the temple in the belief that Kwun Yum would be able to help them to avert any subsequent disaster.

During the second World War, it was said that Hung Hom district was under two rounds of heavy bombardments by the Japanese, aiming at destroying the Whampoa Dock. There were heavy casualties in the adjacent school but those people taking shelter in the temple were unharmed. The residents in the area believed that it was a miracle of Kwun Yum.
Kwun Yum (also named as Guan Yin) - Goddess of Mercy (觀音)

Kwun Yum or Kwun Sai Yum (觀世音) is known for centuries as a deity of sympathy, compassion and mercy, hearing the pleas of those who are suffering. She is worshipped by people of both the Taoist and Buddhist religions. Kwun Yum in the earlier times was a male divinity, but evolved to be a female deity in Tang Dynasty (唐朝). Arising from a saying that Kwun Yum studied Taoist teachings on lotus blossoms, some Kwun Yum Temples are also called Lin Fa Kung or Palace of Lotus Flower (蓮花宮). Temples dedicated to Kwun Yum are often alternatively known as Shui Yuet Kung or Palace of Water and Moon (水月宮), which stands for all that is quiet and peaceful and detached from the material world.

烏蛟騰抗日英烈紀念碑 (Memorial Monument for Wu Kau Tang Anti-Japanese Aggression Martyrs)

The Wu Kau Tang Martyrs Memorial Garden at Bride's Pool Road, North District, Hong Kong.

抗日英烈紀念碑位處香港大埔烏蛟騰，於2010年9月24日 ( 農曆8月16日 ) 舉行重建落成開幕儀式。
1941年香港淪陷進入三年零八個月的日佔時期，當時廣東人民抗日游擊隊東江縱隊曾派出精英成立東江縱隊港九大隊，烏蛟騰就是此隊的重要基地。

1942年農曆8月16日，日軍包圍烏蛟騰村，強逼村民繳械，並且供出遊擊隊隊員的身分，村長李國藩與多名村民堅拒妥協，終被日軍折磨至死。至香港重光後，村民在烏蛟騰一處山坡豎立紀念碑，緬懷犧牲烈士。後來村民認為該地方太偏僻，遂建議遷至現址。

2015年8月，中國國務院公布《關於公布第二批國家級抗戰紀念設施、遺址名錄的通知》(《通知》)，當中包括大埔烏蛟騰村烏蛟騰抗日英烈紀念碑。

Wong Tai Sin Temple (Chinese: 黃大仙祠; Jyutping: wong4 daai6 sin1 ci4) is a well known shrine and major tourist attraction in Hong Kong.[1] It is dedicated to Wong Tai Sin, or the Great Immortal Wong.[2] The 18,000-m² Taoist temple is famed for the many prayers answered: "What you request is what you get" (有求必應) via a practice called kau cim. The temple is located on the southern side of Lion Rock in the north of Kowloon.

Kau Cim 求簽, Kau Chim or Lottery poetry (simplified Chinese: 求签; traditional Chinese: 求簽) is a fortune telling practice that originated in China in which the querent (person asking the question) requests answers from a sacred oracle lot. The practice is often performed in a Taoist or Buddhist temple in front of an altar. Kau Cim is often referred to as Chien Tung or Chinese Fortune Sticks by westerners. In the USA, a version has been sold since 1915 under the name Chi Chi Sticks. Kau Cim is also sometimes known as "The Oracle of Kuan Yin" in Buddhist traditions.
