What i listened in 2020

A fusion of my Strat and some 6581 synthesis & no plugins.  I've been meaning to do this for ages, but needed a concept and suitable rhythm section.....

I was messing around with some Linn drum samples and put together a number of patterns, then explored the Ableton launch/follow facility to create structure and randomness, double tracked sounded great.  

I tried the same approach to the outboard stuff.

All kept in check with live patch changes and midi data to my Sidstation and steered where needed.  Just need a suitable melody, my old Strat sounded the best for this... I got carried away :).

Golden Ratio

Originally there was an image of yellow narcissus flying helical and infinitely to draw a picture, but it was found that a song is better to express it. The track of flowers is like a star ship which reaches the Jupiter.
The bell sounds at the end of the song were cited from a novel in which a bell rings when a person comes back from an infinite journey.

Jam session on an Epi SG. In the middle of setting it up as it’s not behaving and barely intonating. It’s current bad action etc. completely changed my playing approach here. It came to me all abused and unplayable and it is a nice challenge restoring it.

As far as I'm concerned, I want to start it optimistically despite the
tragic events we are going through at the start of the year.
My first song of the year is there fore resolutely optimistic.

OptiMystic

Long Time Gone was originally written as a “swing” blues for a recording session with Bill Kavanagh's Blues Affliction in 2014 (SC link below).
	In keeping with my fascination for eccentric rhythms, I later thought I would try it in a 7 beat meter.   The result was good enough that I asked Foresto, N.O.B.S., and Tot. to give me a hand.   These very talented musicians had joined with me previously on “Heart of Snow” (SC link below).
	The track came out even better than I had hoped ... retaining all the characteristics of a rock/funk boogie while losing none of the odd feel of the unusual meter.
