Dubstep version of Harald Genzmer's "In the evening" (fragment) for bass recorder and electronic. My own elaboration upon the initial bars of the original for solo recorder mixed with electronic rhythms and effects.

My piece was premiered in 1994 in a concert at the University of Music Karlsruhe. It is a piece for flute using Pro-pro-Toto techniques accompanied by a violoncello, a combination presented for the first time. The atmosphere is full of grief, love and tears as it depicts the great loss of a beloved father. More information on my website, see:

Andreas Mazur - - Berlin-based German flutist and composer, studied in Cologne, Karlsruhe and Paris, research in the field of extended techniques, he developed a unique contemporary flute technique, called Pars-pro-Toto Playing in which individual parts of the flute can be used as independent instruments, e. g. melodies are performed only on the flute’s main joint and foot joint without head joint or only on the foot joint etc.
