Bleach Cult is the musical nom de plume of Vytis Puronas, singer-songwriter and film sound designer, formerly one half of lo-fi synth pop outfit Soy Farm. His music is deeply textural and direct, with a genre-bending approach that explores post-punk aesthetics, minimal wave soundscapes and intriguing hooks with a sweet retro vibe.

Summertime Whiteout is a debut Bleach Cult album -  the quirky ambient pop record that fantasizes about 1960s surf culture and romanticizes the neverending dilemmas of teen life. It is all about raw imperfections and beautiful spontaneity, captured live on a modular synthesizer, often relying on single takes and instinctive executions of tracks that leave little to no room for extensive tweaking and post-processing. Recorded in the living room at night it shies away from sophistication and complexity instead employing rough, rock and roll inspired ideas. Raw drifting analog sequences, pulsating textures and polychromatic vocals. No guitars or drum machines, however.

Twin Dive is a rock’n’roll band from Vilnius with charisma at their forefront, consisting of Eglė (drums), Robertas (vocals and bass), and Jonathan (guitar). Despite having formed just a year ago, they have already made a name in Lithuania's alternative scene. After debuting at the “Novus” festival, they have performed at “Loftas Fest”', supported BA. in Juoda Palanga, and wrapped up the winter season with a bang at “Rokodiskoteka”. In early October 2024, the trio is set to release their debut album, but the waiting must be justified, which is why...

Without Letters debut album “Abundance Supreme” comes from Lithuanian club culture, its changes, desired or actually happening and from the parties the band been to in the past couple of years. Trance inducing rhythmical structures and the sharp guitar outbursts invoke krautrock inspired blissful harmonies without offering an escape. Dark, frantic pace underlies Without Letters set, with clear intent to cut through the hierarchy of performer and the listener, to melt all that into a playful, potentially ecstatic co-participation. Finally, the selected tracks from the album got bunch of versatile remixes: wave-ish interpretation by Ement, slow groove versions by Five Rituals and Shkema, ebm version of Teatre and post-rave trance excursions by Dannie Fade and Alex Krell.

[PZPOP010] WITHOUT LETTERS - Abundance Supreme Remixes (Snippets) - OUT on 28.12.2019

Briefly about the scene newcomer. Growing up in Kaunas and being strongly influenced by different cultures, Jonas started producing at his fifteenths, but his relationship with music was always on an abstract level, which made his personal work artistic, floating, with no clear purpose. The album „Futura“ was inspired by the Lithuanian electronic club music culture, particularly by a strong sense of modern hedonistic life. Palmes Ziedas has always felt a weakness for mid/late-twentieth-century recording style, so often his work may seem domestic, too human. But these features only emphasize the melancholy sense of nostalgia of the modernist age.

[PZPOP011] PALMĖS ŽIEDAS - Futura

A debut Bleach Cult album "Summertime Whiteout" - the quirky ambient pop record that fantasizes about 1960s surf culture and romanticizes the never-ending dilemmas of teen life - got six versatile interpretations from diverse Partyzanai comrades. Ement transformed "A Coke With Hollie" into a rockabilly dancefloor sweat version, while Five Rituals duo converted the same song into a broken deconstructed club track. Sound designer Shkema took as usually a slow groove "mushroom" house approach and Zoe Zoe created an AI-based leftfield vocal version. Black Feeling transformed "Acid Shades" into a balleric dancefloor tune and Mart created a dreamy guitar-synths version of "Kenny". Finally, Alex Krell adapts "Neon sugar" into a true rave-ish anthem.

Akli is a Lithuanian post-punk/industrial music project that was created while the world was locked down by the pandemic. Isolation and solitude shaped the themes of musical ideas that were composed and recorded by the artist Kristijonas Valančius. The band’s music is aggressive and brimming with philosophic contemplations of self-worth, lust and disorder. Sonic collages of screaming guitar leads, aggressive vocals, driving bass, distorted drums and dark synthesizer passages create a unique immersive experience. The music strays from blatant cynicism and anger to illuminating moments of honesty. AKLI released two critically acclaimed albums – „Taika” (peace) and “Refleksija” (reflection). With the purpose to build a bridge between stage and club scenes, the selected tracks from the album "Taika" got a bunch of versatile remixes made by the artists from various Partyzanai sub-labels.

Another core evidence, that the future of creativity belongs to the less influenced and brave youth. 17 years old Benas Aleksandravicius alias Ba. unexpectedly appeared in the Lithuanian indie rock scene with his unique, virgin and promising sound. More brave is Ba. manifesto to sing his own encapsulated lyrics just in mother language. Furthermore Benas does the whole sound design on his own and later performs with his perfectly briefed band, which is the reason why every performance is a live instrumental improvisation of his creations. We are happy to release BA.’s first single from the forthcoming album. „Sugebėt pasikeist” (trans. “Ability to change”) symbolizes the change and contribution to create unique and incomparable music. 
The single comes along with remixes from of Golden Parazyth, John Patter, Breathless, Popcorn and Marriage Proposal, who expanded the original version with versatility of obscure electronic music styles from raw bass and dark disco to new wave electro.

Local Blood – Crawling Borders

After a long but short break a bunch of unexpected interpretations of Without Letters “Unfollow EP” finally got it’s shape. The remixes were made by Lithuanian artists, who are shattered all over the Europe. Straight from London comes an expected ZZ Popcorn „Heritage“ remix, which acoustically can be mistaken as an interpretation of Eurhythmics unknown song. The second interpretation of “Heritage” is made by Shkema, who is constantly involved in sound design projects for the Lithuanian National Drama Theater. The “Sight Lines” remix comes from Denmark. Konsistent, who was one of the initiators of “Untitled Tricks” illegal raves in Copenhagen, took a slow, almost balearic approach. The “Malaria” interpretation was made by the fresh the Berlin resident - Vaiper, who is basically a flag carrier of the Lithuanian trap scene and is a frontman of locally well known Despotin Fam Band. Versatile and quality staff for global ears over here.

LOCAL BLOOD - Forest (Konsistent Remix)

Garbanotas a.k.a. Garbanotas Bosistas (The Curly One) is a Lithuanian neo-psychedelia rock and indie folk rock band which started playing in 2008. Every show of the band witnesses the miracle of dreamy neo-kraut-psychedelic flowers growing out of the amplifiers. In order to transfer bits of this miracle on the club dancefloors 6 remixes were created by present and new Partyzanai Pop artists. Konsistent, Black Feeling, Ement, Bleach Cult, Shkema and Patris took diverse approaches to the songs from the album “Room For You”.

Without Letters debut album “Abundance Supreme” comes from Lithuanian club culture, its changes, desired or actually happening and from the parties the band been to in the past couple of years. Trance inducing rhythmical structures and the sharp guitar outbursts invoke krautrock inspired blissful harmonies without offering an escape. Dark, frantic pace underlies Without Letters set, with clear intent to cut through the hierarchy of performer and the listener, to melt all that into a playful, potentially ecstatic co-participation. Finally, the selected tracks from the album got bunch of versatile remixes: wave-ish interpretation by Ement, slow groove versions by Five Rituals and Shkema, ebm version of Teatre and post-rave t

Bleach Cult is the musical nom de plume of Vytis Puronas, singer-songwriter and film sound designer, formerly one half of lo-fi synth pop outfit Soy Farm. His music is deeply textural and direct, with a genre-bending approach that explores post-punk aesthetics, minimal wave soundscapes and intriguing hooks with a sweet retro vibe.

Summertime Whiteout is a debut Bleach Cult album -  the quirky ambient pop record that fantasizes about 1960s surf culture and romanticizes the neverending dilemmas of teen life. It is all about raw imperfections and beautiful spontaneity, captured live on a modular synthesizer, often relying on single takes and instinctive executions of tracks that leave little to no room for extensive tweaking and post-processing. Recorded in the living room at night it shies away from sophistication and complexity instead employing rough, rock and roll inspired ideas. Raw drifting analog sequences, pulsating textures and polychromatic vocals. No guitars or drum machines, however.
